What does it mean that the GPRS is always on? I just got my XDA II recently and their is no connection until I starft the connection. Is it supposed to be on at the moment of a soft boot?

No.

It is an internet connection based on the xda's wireless application. If your post pay you'll be charged for its useage in relation to the amount of data you are sending / recieving. Tap ur signal bit and tap connect gprs to get it going.

If you wanted it to auto connect I'm sure there 's a reg setting somewhere.

it means that it dont auto shutdown after awhile to save money since most people pay pr. MB when it comes to GPRS

if you want it to start up connected you have to check the switch in CB-SOFT tweak called search GPRG on start radio

I guess it's good that T-Mobile USA has unlimited GPRS. I can't imagine paying by the kilobyte.

active the o2 active menu and when ur gprs is on u will see gprs in the top bar instead of a big o2 keep your stylus tapped down on the gprs letters and a load of connections will pop up tap the one with the tick by it and u'll instantly disconnect! howz that!

If you hold down the red 'hang up' button on the xda 11 for 5 seconds it will switch off the GPRS

hay thanks for that! i dont trust my xda not making secret transfers and running up my bill so i prefer it off! and ive removed the o2 active menu cause its crap! as previously asked they say GPRS is always on because if a call comes in gprs will susspend for the duration of the call. therefore it'll always aim to reconnect!
