i need some help here!

i flashed a cooked ROM(4.00.11)from lumpistefans kitchen!all was greaat...dis was da best ROM i had ever tried but after a couple of hours when i tapped the screen...da backlight wouldnt turn on...no matter wat i did it would not turn on...i tried a soft reset but to no avail....i den had to hard reset my phone....but now again im experiancing the same prob??
can somebodyy out dere pleze help me out!?

you can turn your backlight on and off by pressing the powerbutton a long time or something
you can turn it back on in settings
