It's a long story. I dropped my XDA and duffed up the screen. Having found that it will cost over £100 to get a new LCD, I thought I would get a new (new to me) XDA from elsewhere. Success I got a new XDA for £110. So I have lots of spare bits!

So here is the question :- Does anyone have detailed instructions on taking an XDA apart nice and safely, without killing the bits inside.

My old XDA had 64Mb the new one has 32Mb so my first job will be to swap out the LCD from the new one to the old one (i ge tthe full 64Mb back then).

Before I do it though, I think it best I find out how to!

HELP!

I would advise you to swap the motherboard from your 64 meg xda to the one with the good screen rather than trying to take the screen out. You will need a Torx T6 screwdriver, a flat blade screwdriver and a small crosshead driver. One you have removed the outer screws and sim card you need to run your nail around the seam of the xda until the clips release enabling you to seperate the front and back. It is pretty obvious from there to remove the motherboard, be careful with the flat connecters when releasing them as damage to these is bad news. Before commencing disassembly, push a pin or the top half of unscrewed stylus into the hole bottom right of xda, just one push, this will isolate the battery until you have finished working on the xda, when finished push it once more to get power back.

Thank you, I have my baby apart and am happily swapping mother boards. My old case and arial stub were in uch better condition so they are being swapped as well. Actually thinking about it, the only thing I am not swapping is the screen. So apply reverse logic to that, the only thing I am swapping is the screen!!

Oh confusion, it reigns !!
