Hi Everyone,

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place ... well, between a Jornada and an XDA, actually...

The 928wda costs £235 and has 64MB of RAM, a 16-bit screen capable of displaying 65,536 colours), and a CF clot which is CF I/O compatiable.

The XDA is £285 and more than I am pretty much willing to pay for a machine with a 4096-colour screen and a meagre 32MB of RAM ... the idea of breaking the SIM cover also puts me off...

Anyway, the XDA has a certain something-or-other about it, even if it is overprices and under-specified...

Can somebody advise me what to get, and why?

Finally, I will need insurance for whichever PDA I get.

All feedback received will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Samuel

If you have a mobile phone on contract and its over 12 months old, why not get an XDA II on a new contract @ £100 instead ?, it beats the pants off the Jornada and XDA 1 !! and will save you a pile of money at the same time

I am buying Sim Free as I already have an O2 PAYG Sim card

If you could say a bit more that a sentence or two it would help a lot more.

Best,

Samuel

Congrats on replying so quickly, it;s 1:15am here

what i was trying to say (briefly last night cos i was tired!!) was that if you use your phone quite a bit and dont mind being tied into a contract for 12 months then you could get an XDA II for under £100 (depending on how much you monthly phone bill is, Mine is around £80-90 a month usually and i paid £90 for my XDA II 8 months ago)

Here's a few places where its available, on average you can expect to be on a £25 a month tariff and get your XDA II for about £190, on a £30 a month tariff you would get it for £150 and so on

If you want to stay with PAYG then you are probably looking at the xda or jornada, but the jornada is pretty slow and seems to have compatibility problems with lots of software (i used to have one!)

Hope this helps you
