When I am out and about, I forward emails to the XDA2. I forgot to turn this off, and my inbox has just filled up with messages - can't seem to find a way to multi-select and delete? Anyone know how? Thanks

BTW I used this forum to lose the O2 sim and get my vodafone sim working - it works a treat. And I also throroughly recommend the Pocket PC controller for when it's in the cradle

GREAT FORUM!

This won't help you with your question now, but you might thank me later. :)

I got sick to death of the crappy inbox Pocket Outlook on my XDA2 so decided to try nPOPw and it is far, far superior for what I need. It's much quicker for checking mail over GPRS (it takes seconds instead of minutes, and you can see what it's doing at every stage), easy to use and with more features than POutlook. You can perform actions on multiple mails in the way you want at the moment. It works in a slightly different way to PO, and it doesn't synch with your PC but for quickly checking email on the move before you get back to the desktop again it's unbeatable IMHO.

It's a tiny app and (I think) is a single executable file to run - it doesn't install anything onto your machine so you have nothing to lose by trying it.

Download it from the developer's website (Open Source freeware):

make a temp folder and put the mails you dont want to delete in it
and choose
account and click clear pop3

then you delete them all

or you can do like when you want to do the same thing in windows
get the keyboard
and press ctrl and press a and you mark all

or press ctrl and click the ones you want to mark

put your stylus on mial #1 and move the stylus down (drag). it will select all mails you touch with the stylus...

btw, i don't forward mail i just pop to my normal mailbox.
After reading mail at my PC at home, the inbox of the MDA becomes empty after i pop the account again, since all my mail is on the PC...

So read mail is alway in my Act.sync mailbox, new mail i get in my pop mailbox on the MDA...

Many thanks to Johan Piek for the solution I was after - but I was also interested in the other solutions too and will try the npopw thing

I do use activesync for my main mailbox anyway but..

I don't pop to my main mailbox because to do this you have to leave a copy on the server for n days AND crappy outlook (office xp) gets confused with this sometimes and screws up. So I just turn forward on to another mailbox on my domain when I am travelling.

I only use Outlook because I REALLY need the calendar and contacts synchronisation - I wish there was another way
