anyone installed...or was able to install...pocketwin? it's the app which supposedly transforms your ppc today/system to be similar to windows xp (both look and navigation). downloaded a trial software but a little reluctant to install it. been reading the reviews for the software and so far 80% said it's bad.

Why reluctant? Make a full backup first, so if there are any problems, you can do a hard reset and retore.

well, like i said the reviews are a little confusing coz some of them said the software is good while a majority said it's bad. doing a backup is easy but sometimes i guess i'd rather get more opinions before installing...and before doing a hard reset.

I haven't installed it myself, but I know similar products and I've always been thoroughly disappointed with them. They tend to be very buggy, normally soft resets your machine at the drop of a hat, and more than that it won't really be a replica of a PC's desktop. What I've come to learn from these kinda things is that there's a reason the Today screen isn't a desktop per se.

hey thanks for the link of reviews...partly similar to those i've seen on pocketgear and the like. apparently most of the people who've pocketwin weren't at all satisfied. but what i didn't know was that the trial version only worked for 10 min??? talk about a lack of time for trying out software...

Tryed it and I found it very slow..and also not projected to use with a Pocket Pc Phone edition..couse it hides phone link,etc..
But it looks nice..
