Cannot unlock with old method

Tried to unlock with new method then realised that it is not the recommended one so I tried to follow the bootloader method instructions

Put the device into bootloader it displayed serial

Put it into the cradle and new device was detected by windows and it now displayed USB

Disabled USB in activesynch (I already have serial and remote disabled)

Ran the programme on my desktop

And then typed YES and pressed enter on the keyboard

and the dos box just diappeared tried it with both serial and remote eneabled in activesynch but no luck

I am using windows ME is that the reason or anything else i the instructions that I have got wrong please help

I dont think it works on ME, windows 2000 or XP only I suspect.

so there is no hope for me to unlock as both my computers have ME and I dont wanna change that

Can you use a pc at work, or maybe a friend has a pc running xp?

I shall try work im not sure if any friend would like me to use their computer
