This ROM is (almost sure) NOT official but cooked: It contains the ExtROMUnlocker from xda-developers. I bet T-Mobile wouldnt supply that tool!
The extROM has czech customisations in the ExtRom. Beware of that.

Yes,it is true.. Our Czech T-mobile released new official ROM with czech customization, ROM: 1.72.00 ExtROM: 1.72.176 and Radio: 1.17.00.
There is a config.txt of this ROM:

CAB: \Extended_ROM\MIDI561.sa.CAB
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\CallerIDInstall_WWE.exe
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CamereRC16_Hima2_WWE.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CameraRC16_Streaming_reg.CAB

CAB: \Extended_ROM\OEM_ExtraSetting_04070501.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\TMDCZCustomize.sa.CAB
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\PanelDetect.exe
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\BTPSKeyUpdate_003.exe
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPEnable.exe
RST: Reset

And the ROM 1.72.777 is cooking from this Czech T-mobile official ROM update..

I also noticed that the versions history of this ExtRom is not completely clear.
It has numerous files that have the same name as the QTek 1.72.601 rom, but the contents is completely different.

Would be handy if the creator of this ExtRom supplied some extra info.

@xp: Could you upload (or supply a link) the 1.72.776 official T-Mobile CZ ExtRom, or maybe the whole upgrade?

Hi, these ROMs are "nonofficial" (meaning not released by T-M) "official" updates (meaning - our Czech cellphone service providers are not releasing official updates, so somebody have to do it in behalf of them)...

URL http://mda.epot.cz is MDA2 Wiki page in Czech, that I'm editor (and cook/provider of these updates)... The page you posted is the list of released updates by companies (with download links) or by service company flashed to devices...

As I said, these ROMs are cooked using OS ROM from QTek 1.72.601, Radio ROM 1.17 is from this forum and ExtROM is cooked on basis of last update flashed by service company for T-M (1.72.176). This ROMs are destined for Czech users of T-M MDA2 or Eurotel CZ DataPhone II (originaly QTek 2020, only branded), so there is a TMDCustomize.CAB which makes customizations for T-M CZ and installs Language Extender (localization SW) in Czech language and with czech keyboard (same for Eurotel with ETCustomize.CAB)...
And ad to names of cabs in ExtROM, you can name it as you want, right?

BTW It's working! I have it in my DataPhone II... :P

Thanks!

No, this update (1.72.176) is flashed only by service provider directly to your device and you have to pay for it...
We try to boycot this approach to all Czech Himalaya users...

Really? That kind of greedy huh! SE maybe worth to pay for.

Beecher,
Thanks for the info.
I just found some curious things.
As I am cooking / distributing my owm ext roms too, I would very much like all details of any rom to be able to make a good judgement.
The filename i mentioned is the same as is used in other (earlier) releases. It is a good habit to only leave the name the same IF the contents is the same. (part of being able to do releasemanagement).

That all. But now I know thats enough for me.

Great site btw!!!
Pity I dont read czech though. . . .

Isnt just releasing that 1.72.776 release on the net the best boycot????

Why? We paid our repair service in price of the device...
There is something strange if look around, O2, QTek, i-mate, T-Mobile (not Czech one) are releasing their own updates for free on Internet, but our cellphone service providers not (OK, at the worst case I will go to repair service comapny to flash new version of ROMs)...

OTH I think there won't be a lot of differences between flashing FE (First Edition) and SE, so we can cook our own ExtROMs on basis of current updates and using our knowledge to fit all our needs...

My assumption is main "dramatic" change will be in nk.nbf file (OS ROM), maybe Radio ROM, ExtROM will stay as is but with just only new versions of all included software (prepared for SE and Landscape mode)...
So I think we can use all techniques we know, if somebody one day posts to xda-dev forums message: "It's here!" :D

Beecher,
Thanks for the info.You're welcome.
BTW I never thought that my czech specific updates will reach xda-dev forums... :D

(part of being able to do releasemanagement).Yeah, I think I see the point... But I'm taking names how they come to me... Regardless of it, when I'm releasing new update I'm changing the version (first was 1.72.666, now it's 1.72.777) and you have to keep on mind, my "sandbox" is smaller then yours, if you are releasing something more universal...
That all. But now I know thats enough for me.Cool...
Great site btw!!!
Pity I dont read czech though....Thanks. But this site is something like xda-dev wiki, but more oriented on user, not on geeks all day playing with their toys... :D
Isnt just releasing that 1.72.776 release on the net the best boycot????I hope so... But remmeber I released 1.72.777 update... :)

Thats what I meant... They (T-Mo CZ) should do the same a free upgrade like the rest. I think people were happy to have your site and this site help them about upgrading stuff and etc... Great job!

Like "edsub" said I wish I could understand Czech. Just by looking at those step by step pictures I got some idea. :) I hope there's english version of your site... :)

PLEASE DON'T FLASH DIRECTLY MY UPDATES TO YOUR DEVICES!!!
THEY ARE ONLY FOR CZECH PEOPLE THAT ARE FUCKED BY OPERATORS!!!
This ROMs includes localization software. But if you like it, remove from ExtROM files *Customize.CAB (and from config.txt file too, ofcourse).
