I just bought a SX56 From ATT and want to change the Rom to T-mobile. I searched all this forum but everythig seem dificult to understand. Can Some one help me find an origianl rom for T-Mobile. And can give me a link on how to update it using SD Card.
Att wont work correctly with my Tmobile card. My neighbor is using the Att phone with a Tmobile rom and works bette than mine. (reception wise)

search for the word(s) ROM Kitchen.
Or just click here

Just browse around alot. There are thousands of pages to go through. Don't be afraid. Get a pack of smokes, some liquer, and start reading. Just after your brain goes numb, read a litte more, take a shot, and then do some stretches and get back to it.
Understand that the MDA is actually two devices in one. There is a radio and a PDA. You can upgrade one or both, at the same time or not. Flashing can be extremely dangerous. The bootloader the worst, radio second, and OS least. If you can just get the EXE for Tmo, it should flash both RIL and OS in the least painful way (it still hurts though). Also the latest Rom (to my knowledge) is 4.01.16. Good luck!

There are very few good working rom kitchens, in fact lumpistefans is the only I know of at the moment.
The ATT roms seem to have dissapeared lately. Lumpistefans has a single ATT rom all the way at the bottom. A.30.09
That rom works fine on my SX56 right now.
I have installed the latest ENG T-mobile rom on another SX56 and it works just fine under T-Mobile.
Get XDAtools from here and make sure you get the full one with Programma A and the Bootloader files. Put your SD in a SD card reader attached to your PC and then use XDAtools to put the .NB file you get from the rom kitchen onto the SD. XDAtools should put the bootloader files on it automatically. Then just put it into the SX56 and reset it. It should ask you if you want to flash the device and press the action key. 10 minutes later you should have a nice new T-Mobile phone. Just remember DO NOT put it in the cradle or touch it in any way shape or form while it is flashing. Just leave the thing alone till its done. If you do that, then you should be safe.
Thats really all there is to it.

You may need to update the radio for it to work more efficiently on T-mobile's network, I don't know. Also, you should back up your current ROM and RIL to SD or MMC, copy to PC, and burn it to CD, FYI, IMHO.
(I wanted to see how many accronyms I could use in a row, and still make sense)
In anycase, if you backup your device first, you won't have to worry about what roms are not available later, and that you will have one to work on your device, should you want to sell it as an SX56. Also, ATT just got bought by Cingular, and ATT is phasing out, which might explain the lack of ROMs ?????
