Gone but not forgotten, thanks to Google Desktop. Here's the gist of the hard work everyone did to enable flashing the MDAIII german to english, as summarized by pablo in his now-gone post:

ok, let's go

download the zip of the post i wrote:
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/support/PDA2K_CDL_11200_134_10200_SHIP.zip

unzip 2 times in a new folder

then download the latest xda3nbftool of this thread, and copy it in the same folder where unzipped before:
[see next post]

then create the following bat file with wordpad (remember the .bat extension, NOT .txt)
copy EXACTLY the rows that follows:

as to your question, if it is the same version of the ROM, it may be that you just need to reverse the installation process and re-install the GER version prior to sending your device in for repairs.

They will check the device information, so be sure u hv the ROM and Radio Stack back in original version.

I don't think you changed anything. I don't see any space between xda3nbftool and the -x option and the other option. Add Spaces and try again.

which device do you have? Do you have the device with the keyboard (Blueangle) that is called MDAIIs as in a single device. Or do you have multiple MDAII's (Himalaya's), the second version without the keyboads?

If you have A blueangle MDAIIs, does it have a BlackBerry client on it? What version of Bluetooth does it have?

Everything you need is in this thread, read it from the top and you shouldn't have any problems. The steps are simple
Put all of this in the same directory
1. Download the 169 image from imate, link is above
2. Download the xda3nbftool, the file is above
3. Download winRAR from the web, do a search.
4. unzip the 169 image into an .exe file in the same directory.
5. Use winRAR again to unpak the .exe into the component files to the same directory
6. open a blank file with NOTEPAD and copy in the text from the very top of this post, save file as fix.bat
7. double click on fix.bat
8. cradle you device, let it sync up
9. backup all your data
10. double click on BaUpgradeUt.exe
11. watch the magic work
12. reset your device and enjoy.

Well I am in the same situation than you here, but no one seems to really be able to help, I tought that this could be the paradise here and that solution would be here from me... but no.

The only solution that you have is to find a Qtek like yours and copy its rom, tanks to the TTY soft and a d2s cmd. I sent a SD to France to a friend how owne a Q9090 in order to do that it is my last chance.

I also found some ROM on the FTP of XDA-Dev but there are all named NK.nb1, this rom seems to be made by a soft called XDATools, which in fact do not work for BlueAngle, I asked friends to make a rom from their Q9090 with this soft to test on their Q9090 and it doesn't work at all.

So at this stage some of use succeed to bypasse the Counrty ID Error and to change their rom, but some other like you and I must steal a rom from a living Q9090 or AnyBlueAngel PDA. It seems that in fact the BlueAngel is an unkown area for most of people here... or at least no one came to help me to recover this situation so I assume that no one really know.... :?

I have also a dead MDA. There was no error but when I give a hard reset to restart, my MDA show i-mate and stop.
I want to try BaUpgradeUt.exe again but I can't connet with my cradle. Activesync don't reconized my MDA.

Thanks for the files and the directions, I was able to flash my German MDA III to English and I am even posting from it. Believe it or not the reception on the 1900 Mhz Frequency that we use in Mexico is a lot better now than it was before the upgrade!!!

No you dont have to!!!

Try do it my way.
On my screen was: "Serial v2.05". I put my MDA 3 on my cardle and run BaUpgradeUt.exe , and the process go.

I did everything you guys wrote, so i dont know what to do anymore. I have a german MDA3 with also the T-Mob101 Version.

hi guys,

since a lot of people have problems upgrading their German devices to the English Rom, i suggest that the ones who DID upgrade should post their complete upgrade file (including all the changes they have done, such as the batch file, xda3nbtool, etc...)
So that the ones who are not so familiar with these changes could just download the file, and start baupgrade.exe, and there they go!

Well if you got no errors after the 2nd Fix.bat what does the next step of running "BaUpgradeUt.exe" show you.

For me on BA_WWE_BelDT_12200_557_10602_SHIP it posts the correct old and new versions.

I have not done the upgrade as I hate install all my software add to that that there are also 1.22.01 GER, .02 FRA, .04 ITA around I would think that a WWE will come soon.

I just finished installing BA_WWE_BP_12200_126_10600.zip and my device (Qtek 9090) now shows

ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.126 WWE

Before that, my DeviceData.txt contained, among other things:

PH20B 0 B WWE E DANGA001 1.12.00 1.12.120 1.02.00 02.00

All things considered, it went smooth. Had to unpack the files and run this script:

Now - before restoring all data or reinstalling the applications, I would like to also install the newest update (BA_WWE_BP_12200_169_10602_SHIP.zip, downloaded from http://www.qtek.nu/files/BA_WWE_BP_12200_169_10602_SHIP.zip).

The passwords won't work, so I used xda3nbftool to get the new ones from the files. The first problem is that the radio file seems to be ignored:

Running xda3nbftool.exe -t ms_.nbf on the files from the first directory (the update that went ok), I get:

xda3nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040521
xda3nbftool -x ms_.nbf ms_.nba 0x20040522
xda3nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0xdffbfadc

Hm. Stange - while the passwords for nk.nbf and ms_nbf are ok, the one for radio_.nbf is wrong.

Running the same command on the files for update 2, I get:

xda3nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0xefc42b4c
xda3nbftool -x ms_.nbf ms_.nba 0x8e86c6cc


So as you see, rado_.nbf seems to have gone missing. The file definitely is there, so that shouldn't be the problem. And the passwords don't work, I get

WARNING: this does not look like a nbf header, possible you provided the wrong password

on both files.


Has anybody got the correct passwords, or do we need an updated version of xda3nbftool capable of handling a possibly changed encryption algorithm?

I have a qwertz keyboard, but the rom knows the qwerty keyboard. And the right part of the keyboard doesn't react at all...

Getting started is always a good place to start.

As for the Keyboard.

You have 2 of them, the software one will miss the öäü as you have no german Keyboard in your wwe rom, this you can solve with the resco keyboard or the one sold by the same guys that do the solved english-german dictionaries.

For the hardware one (which now has the öäü but you cant press them you need the a cab form.

Dump it on your device and execurte the cab with a tap from fileman.

hi, i started 2 threads, but people aren't responding, so i'll just continue here. i found PDA2K_CDL_11200_134_10200_SHIP on this site, and was able to solve my own problem

i know have wwe 1.12 on a german, tmobile mda3. but because of my previous flash, my external rom is german 1.22 --- so i guess i will just try to used the kitchen cook files here, as the zip/callerid/album/etc programs are in german

anyone think this is a good idea?

i just don't understand why any of the other firmware roms don't work. no one can seem to upload a working install of anything else other than 1.12 in the ftp here? there are so many others, but none of them work.
