I got the MDAIII on T-Mobile in the UK and had to pay £15 for them to give me an unlock code.

Bought this device earlier this month. Can anyone help provide the unlocking sequence cause T-Mobile certainly can't! They say they can provide the unlocking code (eventually) but not the sequence, and to get it I have to contact the device manufacturer! I`m travelling to the USA in 1 weeks time and want to use a T-Mobile USA SIM card whilst there. :x

What do you mean by sequence.
T-Mobile gave me an unlock code - I put my O2 SIM card into the MDAIII and it asked for the unlock code - I entered it. It is now unlocked and works with my O2 SIM

Hmmm, never having unlocked a SIM card before I am going by T-Mobile's advice that there is a specific sequence of key stroke entries that need to be followed before I get to the screen that asks for the code. From what you say it might be no more difficult than taking out the UK SIM card, replacing it with the USA SIM card, a screen appears asking for the unlock code which I enter, and hey presto - job done!
Have I read this right? Is this all you do?

Yes, you are right. It is as simple as that.

Who or where at T-Mobile UK can a SIM unlock code be purchased for 15 pounds? I just got my MDAIII from the Oxford Street retail store but need to use it in areas overseas without T-Mobile service.

Thanks...

I got my xda2s a week ago and when i called O2 they told me that there is no way i can unlock my phone before the 12month contract ends!
That is really annoying, but they told me its part of my contract agreement!(which i haven't seen mentioned anywhere...)
I need to use it in another network over the christmas, so if there is any other way i can get this unlock code you are talking about, or any software that takes away the lock PLEASE share it.
I really appreciate it.
George

It may be worth ring O2 again. It seems to me that it's the luck of the draw whether you get someone in customer services who
a. gives you the unlock code immediately
b. charges you for an unlock code and unlocks it immediately
c. tells you it can't be done until the end of the first 12 months of your contract.

I'm glad you got it sorted georkal.

It's always been like this with O2, I wonder what there 'official' policy is supposed to be? Everyone who calls them seems to get a different answer.

Hi there,

I have tried O2 a number of times, and each time I come across the same problem - if you aren't an 02 customer, then no unblock for you.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get this thing unblocked?

Tony

Keep calling - 02 will give the unlock eventually.

I just told them that I was travelling to the US and wanted to connect to a different network while I was there. My unlock code is in the post right now - can't wait!

Has anyone got the software to unlock the M2000/MDAIII/XDAIIs (HTC Blue Angel). Orange is charging £20, which i don't mind paying, but i know that soon i will have to get the phone replaced and i dont want to keep spending money unlocking the damn thing.

do you know when we will have the unlock program for the MDA III, like the xda2unlock.exe?

Hi!

The other day I bought a MDA III but I can´t use as a mobile phone because of the simlock. I am waiting for a new tool to get my unlock code, which only depends on your IMEI. Until now, you have to pay 15 pounds to T-mobile if you want to unlock your SIM, but I hope in this page somebody will be able to make a tool like xda2unlock.exe for the XDA II. If somebody has got to unlock the MDA III´s SIM, let us know, please. Thanks.

Weird people...

Ok after waiting almost 2 months now i phoned O2 once more to find out why it takes so long to get my unlocking code.
The reply was that they never sent the unlocking code because this cannot be done as it would be against the contract agreement!
I feel like a complete idiot when each time i call they basically lie to me and make a fun of me!
I'm really annoyed with this behavior so im offering the money they were going to charge me (15£) to anyone that manage to build an unlocker program!
Im sure many people will contribute to that cause.
I appreciate it,
George
