GPRS disconnecting-reconnecting in PIE using WAP

I've come across annoying problem on my SPV m1000 (XDA II). When I access wap sites in PIE it disconnects and reconnects on nearly each page request. I did a hard reset thinking it might be a conflict with some other software installed but the problem persists. Anybody else come across this?

Also I've found that sometime the device won't turn-on or off when I press the power button, usually have to do a soft-reset. Also annoying.

While googling I came across the solution: use wsp:// instead of http:// for wap sites. Also came across another useful tip - to disconnect from GPRS press the red phone button.

I'm still having the problem (gprs disconnecting on every request) and it's really annoying me. If I put in a wap proxy say 172.18.251.11 (which doesn't actually work), attempt to access a page and then remove it, it seems to solve the problem temporarly which is a bit strange. Can anybody tell me what is the actual wap proxy for Orange?

Does anybody else find it annoying that Microsoft shoves support onto the device manufacturer/wireless operator. It doesn't provide any support for Windows Mobile, not even a knowledge base. I believe there is a bug in PIE for PPC PE 2003 and was hoping for some info in their KB.
