Hi all,

Why using your private email address? Please post that patch on a public site, so everyone can use it!

The upgrade will not help at all....

However......

I got my boss the Verizon XV6600WOC and it has the same Bluetooth stack just version 2400 instead of 2200.

What stack versions are you guys working with?

Now I just need to rip the bluetooth files out of it. If i find any success in getting his bluetooth stack version on to mine, I will post the files and instructions here.

BTW: His stack HAS to be better since we both have a Jabra Freespeak 250 and I have a HBH-200 and his bluetooth headsets work flawlessly with absolutely zero crackling or interference

I dont have any tools to extract ROMS, files, etc. from Blue Angel's or Harriers

Before my PDA2K I had an SX56 from Siemens, now THAT I can do just about anything with at this point.

I need the tools to:

Save the ROM and extended ROM with Activesynch and to be able to extract the files from it

Just posting to keep this thread current and at the top of the page :)

Can anyone provide assistance on how to extract the Bluetooth stack from a Blue Angel to a format which can be inserted onto another device?

If what's being discussed here is true, the BT stack in Verizon's Blue Angel could be the solution to the BT problems with the other models like PDA2k, MDA III, etc.

Thanks!

I have good news and I have bad news and then I have some more good news, but not today.

Good News - I was able to get a lot of the files off the XV6600WOC and some of the extended rom cabs.

Bad News - 3 files are protected somehow and I cannot copy them with the device on. BTCESTACK.DLL, BTCEPROFILES.DLL,BTPANMANAGERCE.EXE

Delayed Good News - There is a good chance that I might be getting an additional XV6600WOC unit that I can do a proper rom dump on and post it here on the 15th.

I will post 2 attachements. One is the bluetooth files, the other is some of the extended rom cabs after I unlocked it. I was not able to get the unit in my hands long enough to get them all, the guy had to leave. Also, a proper rom dump was not possible, since he had all his programs and data installed.

Hope these files help somewhat.

Off BT.

Move BTTrayCE from /Windows/StartUp folder to another location.

Reset.

Copy the 3 files.

Relocate BTTrayCE back to /Windows/StartUp folder.

Reset.

Hope this works Bro.

I copied the bt files you posted to the c:\windows directory.
For a quick 2 minutes test I noticed the phone still turns on every 30-60 seconds or so after I make a call via the bt headset. We may need those 3 other files (if not more) after all.

ok, I downloaded http://www.asukal.jp/BT_Headset.CAB which replaced the files you were unable to extract with the bt 1.6 stack. So far so good. I will test it and let you guys know.

Regarding the files you got out of the above CAB file:

Are they the same version as the files you couldn't extract from the XV6600WC? If not, this could cause big problems.

Just a friendly warning; let us know how it goes.

nah, the cab above is not the same version. it worked none-the-less. i seemed to have gotten more auto turn ons with the cab, so i now reverted back to my pda2k's original 2200 stack with the verizon files he posted above. I definately notice the phone syncs with the bt headset much quicker, and so far hasn't lost connectivity with it. I still hear static when im only 5 ft or so away from it. (its the sony ericsson 660) I didn't get this with my old moto headset.

outz - If you like the way your configuration is working, can you please post a summary of what steps others like me need to take to implement it on our pda2k's? I get a little lost reading the thread here, and I don't want to make too many mistakes and end up having to reflash the whole unit... thanks for the advice !

outz,

I guess we'll just have to wait for ed207_us to get another device from which the correct missing BT files can be obtained. It's possible they could be key to getting proper BT operation.

sure.

1. navigate to c:\windows\startup
2. move the BTTrayCE (could be called Autorun-BTTrayCE) shortcut to another directory c:\storage for example.
3. Now reset your device. This will cause your bluetooth to not start on boot.
4. download the bluetooth zip that Ed posted and extract it to a folder on your PC
5. copy all of the files that were in the zip and paste them via the activesync explorer into the c:\windows directory of your PDA2k
6. Move the BTTrayCE back to c:\windows\startup
7. reset

I was able to reverse the changes by just performing a hardreset. If you would rather not perform a hard reset I suggest doing a xbackup of the phone first.

Thanks! I might get brave over the weekend and try this... not being able to use my BT headset effectively is killing me, and clubimate is taking forever on this patch deal....

I have put it and for now functions quite better, nothing of rare errors.
I insist for now.
But for example continues without appearing the BT Dial-up Modem ?¿?¿? For example if l take of a HP 4700, the files of the BT will serve me for my XDA III

I will do my best to get my hands on the unit again on Monday. I myself may be able to obtain one of them as early as the 15th or 16th.

If I get my own unit, I will just perform a complete ROM dump.

In any case, I will try your suggestions to get those last 3 files

Thanks, Ed! We look forward to receiving them. I've posted on a few other forums, about obtaining the files. If I get them before the 15th I'll be sure to post them.

Does doing any of this stop the insufficient driver memory error that the PDA2k always receives? I havent really worked with bluetooth that much since everytime my device goes into sleep mode then wakes up it pops up with this driver error.

You can try this patch (BT 1.5.0.0801) for bluetooth stack.
This patch helps to resolve qtek 9090 and Jabra BT250 cracking voice problem.

Did you really make the Jabra 250 Headset work with the PDa2k ( MDAIII or 9090 ) without the crackling problem? I want to buy a Jabra Bt 250 but I had a very bad experience with the old BT software. Can someone verify me that it works without problems now?

mcmatrix
13-12-2004, 02:47 PM
Yes i did.
What this patch do is simply overwriting default bluetooth stack files with a higher version. (no reg fix or something like that just file overwrite)

By default my qtek 9090 contains bluetooth stack version 2200.
After patching my qtek contains bluetooth stack version 1.5.0.801.

Now i can use my Jabra 250 headset without crackling sound.

Hi,

I've tried this patch, but it won't let me install it... it says something about files being in use or in the ROM... how can I fix this?

Hi

I also own a Qtek 9090 and after testing quite a few headsets I found that the Motorola HF810 works very well .

Im still waitting for a new version of bluetooth software.

I installed both stack 3500 et 3000 and it solve a lot of problems but not the principal. Audio quality and distance between the pda and the headset is alredy very poor.
I use motorola 850 and quality is poor again.
Is somebody tested a bluetooth headset who work perfectly with qtek 9090 even if you are note close to the device ??

Thanks

I had time to test my previous patch and realized that it wont work after all. Sorry for that.

After many hours of websurfing i found QTEK rom upgrade.
http://www.qtek.nu/default.asp?nc=9683&id=110&element=0
http://www.qtek.nu/files/BA_WWE_BP_12200_126_10600.zip
Today I updated my qtek rom to 1.22.00WWE with BT build 2400 (was 1.12 WWE with BT build 2200) and made some tests.

RESULT: Crackling sound when using Jabra BT250 and Qtek 9090 is still present :( So this new rom doesnt help.

My local QTEK reseller told me that a new ROM upgrade will come soon (maybe already in this year)

Sorry once more for my previous patch.

I have been testing the new bluetooth stack as well. Build 3500.

Using a sony-ericsson HBH-200. Best quality so far, but distance and crackling are still present some of the time

Using a Jabra 250..... Forget about it. Not only does the crackling remain, but still some minor pairing issues and cannot answer with the button.

I have pre-ordered the Jabra BT500 and BT800. Let's see what happens then.

Too many forums.

Guys, the i-mate patches have build 3100 and build 3500.

Read the thread I started.

I have these patches upgrading bluetooth on several phones.

yes but a lot of subject permits to speek everything.
When we speek about audio bluetooth quality, nobody post reply and after updated new rom it's the last bug we can enconter on qtek device.

The last bug is bluetooth stack and audio quality.

I have a Logitech Bluetooth Headset, and it works fine on my Qtek 9090.
Only the distance has a maximum about 5 meter from the PDA away.

stephane
11-01-2005, 05:48 PM
No i use the two logitec bluetooth headset and it doesn't work fine.
Only if you stay just around the device. If you put the ktek in case protect and have a walk on street quality is bad like others.

:)
