After installing the IntelliDialer cab file. Download the ZIP file, UNZIP it and paste all the files in your pocket pc's /windows directory. Soft reset if you don't see the change.

The IntelliPad skin is in the dll's.
You will have to extract, modify & import the resources from all dll's in the IntelliPad cab.

You can use PE-Explorer (on the PC) to handle the dll's

It is do-able

I am very interested. Could youn please stick to blue-ish and skip any O2 logo's as that makes the skin of general interest.

I can try to add the skin into the roginal cab's if you like.

Nope, as soon as you switch to landscape you end up with the crappy T-Mobile sking although when you go back to portrait it works fine

@VW_ELM: If you could export the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone registry branch into a .reg file and post that, that would be great!

In this http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=69092
thread I posted an Intellidialer cab (in nuetral blue color-scheme) which is un-installable.

For anyone that wants to experiment.
Thing with Intellidialer is that it installs on all devices, but Intellidialer functionality only appears on SE devices.

Can anyone post what the date/timestamp is of the intellidialer.dll in \windows AFTER installing the Intellidialer

If it was the last customisations app you installed, use regedit.
1. Edit following value
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apps\Customization Tools]
"Instl"=dword:00000001
2.Then uninstall Intellidialer (and probably soft-reset).

If it wasnt the last customisations app you installed: bad luck.. A Hard reset is most safe. Alternatively you cuold try to install any other dialer skin over it.

maybe you should have used the version I posted, that one is un-installable in itself. . . .

Blackolive
7th December 2004, 10:12 AM
edsub, forgive the naiivity, am I right that to install your version (or anything that is ***.cab), you copy the cab into /windows flder and open?? still a newbie in the technological blackhole of Afghanistan.
Phil

edsub
7th December 2004, 10:16 AM
CAB's can be put anywhere on the device. The ExtROM (search for Extended ROM Tools to access that) are a good place for good CAB's

Just start them to install the app involved.
Remeber to
1. Make the file readonly before getting it on your device, AND/OR
2. Keep a backup on your PC
in order to keep the CAB for future use.

Normally CABs are deleted automatically when having run.

Youre right. Now once more for everyone else: Intellidialer does not work on NON SE Devices

Lots of people get confused maybe because Intellipad DOES work on non SE devices.

It apparently takes 'intelli'-gence to tell the difference between a 'dialer' and a 'pad'

Blackolive

edsub
8th December 2004, 05:22 PM
@Blackolive: You can upgrade to SE, there is a whole thread on that with >14 pages. I would only recommend it if you like to experiment since it is not said that you end up with a stable device.

The contactsbutton has NOTHING to do with any skin. It is the quickcontacts (as I call it) program by mamaich.

See attachment for my cab of mamaichs s/w.

ok so IntelliDialer... if you installed it and don't want to use it, and don't want to Hard Reset, go to Tools on the bottom of the phone screen, then click intellidialer options then click off the enable intellidialer and its gone... Intellidialer does work on the Himilaya.. you have to spell out the name using the number pad... so if you are calling Scott you'd punch in 72688 on the keypad and all the Scott's would come up, and it begins to narrow it as you go... its pretty simple ya'll

Blackolive

edsub

zabe MUST be using se.
On non-se its simply not possible.
When installed, you only get a new skin for the old dialer.
To uninstall that, see my post above

Dr.Stein]Images of Portrait and Landscape from O2 Xda IIs dialers minus Intelli add-ons.

There are missing files for landscape mode, seems the intellidialer selection panel is still in old graphics....checking which ones....

I have combined both folders in your zipped file - Landscape and Portrait,
and found only 32 unique files. All of them files starts with _ , so I had remove the underscore, and found these files to be missing:

clg_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
clg_dlrbtnd_sqre.gif
clg_in_land.gif
clg_miss_land.gif
clg_out_land.gif
dlr_sqre.gif
dlrclr_sqre.gif
dlrclrd_sqre.gif
end_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
end_dlrbtnd_sqre.gif
ending_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
hld_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
hld_dlrbtnd_sqre.gif
snd_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
snd_dlrbtnd_sqre.gif
spd_dlrbtn_sqre.gif
spd_dlrbtnd_sqre.gif
spd_lst_land.gif

I reckon that in total, there should be 50 files altogether to replace.

Some of these files are hidden when you put them out to your Windows desktop. This is because they are classified as protected operating system files and are hidden in Windows by default.

These files does not include the indialer skins, which is about 24 in total.
For the landscape mode, these files are missing:

indialer_arrow.bmp
indialer_callin.bmp
indialer_contacts.bmp
indialer_down_l.bmp
indialer_downsel_l.bmp
indialer_downsel_p.bmp
indialer_lb.bmp
indialer_ls.bmp
indialer_misscall.bmp
indialer_up_l.bmp
indialer_upsel_l.bmp
indialer_upsel_p.bmp
indialer_zoom_l.bmp
indialer_zoomsel_l.bmp
indialer_zoomsel_p.bmp

I have combined the related skins from buchay and [Krueger]Dr.Stein
to have a total of 57 files (still missing those 02 indialer and _sqre skins).

The next zipped file just contains 5 indialer landscape skins that was modified from the portrait skins. Hopefully, someone can post the actual ones together with the rest of the missing skins!

Many thanks!

Hi gurus,

can you change IntelliDialer in a way that tapping a number would trigger also other "simmilar" characters used in other languages? The following table wpuld support English, German, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and perhaps other languages:

2 triggers A Á Ä B C Č
3 triggers D Ď E É Ě F
4 triggers G H I Í
5 triggers J K L Ĺ Ľ
6 triggers M N Ň O Ó Ö Ő Ô
7 triggers P Q R Ŕ Ř S Š Ś ß
8 triggers T Ť U Ú Ü Ű Ů V
9 triggers W X Y Ý Z Ž

It would be really great for many of us! :D

Since this thread has a lot of activity I though I would repost some of my earlier comments in the BA forum on dialer skins (with a couple changes):

It seems like all of the phone skin tools out there are lacking. What we need (and many would probably pay for...) is a phone skin chooser/editor with the following minimum features:

-WM 2003SE based chooser that quickly changes among skins (maybe even without requiring a soft reset)
-Skins that DO NOT exhibit the "bug" of the original key appearing on holding down a key
-Skins that work in both portrait and landscape mode
-Skins that allow an alternate color for Talk/End button (like std. dialer)
-An easy to use editor to make/customize skins
-Ability to completely get back to original dialer, including proper momentary change of key appearance when press

Any ambitious developers willing to tackle this one?
