I obtained (with many thanks to fychan) a memory image of an English version of WM2003 SE which is an earlier version than the recent Chinese release, but it is genuine English. I managed to create an installable NK.nbf file from this. Also, mamaich has provided the version 1.18 Radio upgrade included here. Many thanks to mamaich for that and also for some advice when I was building the OS nbf file. Also, mamaich has provided some CAB files for Extended ROM which I have also attached here separately.

Attached is an upgrade for Himalaya devices to WM2003 SE WWE, Radio 1.18. Unzip the attachment into a folder of your choice. The nbf files are configured for operator ID O2 and language ID WWE. If you need to change these, carry out all the steps below. If they are OK for you, go straight to step 5.

Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306

Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require by entering the following commands at the command prompt substituting <operator> with the required value:

xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba

Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba

Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306

Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub and that the power supply is connected to the cradle. It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers.

Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe

Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait', but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.

Notes: I have installed this upgrade on my XDA II without any problems, and have also been able to revert back to the 1.72 ROM I had installed previously. I have bootloader v1.01, and I don't know whether it would be any different for later versions of bootloader.

After upgrading, a hard reset takes places and the Extended ROM is installed. I found that several applications caused a 'Application may not display properly.....' message box to appear which required tapping to dismiss. Therefore, you will need to make sure that TPDisable.exe is not run in the Config.txt script in the Extended ROM, otherwise you will not be able to respond to the messages.

Edit: I've created a .BAT file which can be run from a DOS prompt to replace steps 1-4...

Usage: OperatorUpdate operatorID
where operatorID is O2 or CDL or TMOBILE, etc.

Just unzip the attached zip file.

Hey nice work,... now comes the usual obligatory question... can we get some version #'s from this rom? :-) What #s are we seeing...

Also, I would like to ask... for upgrading we need only use the bigger file yes? The smaller file (extrom) is just for reference? Or do we need to also write that to the unit for full upgrade to?

Thanks and congrats!

Dear dcs,

Thanks for this hard-work precious....

The following are info of my device. Since my existing rom is quite different with what you have, not sure if I can just use your work directly.

ROM version: 1.52.00CHT
Radio version: 1.08
ExtRom version: 1.52.118

If I like to downgrade my device to its original ROM, any actions should I take before upgrading my device by using your ROM.

Thanks for your help.

Someone unknown has uploaded WindowsMobile2003SE.exe to xda-developers FTP. This looks like an O2 2.06.00 ROM with English Windows 2003 Second Edition. It is newer than version provided by dcs (2.02.t1) but older than chinese (2.20.07).

What is the difference between your version and the one that is posted by dcs?
It is not "my" version. Someone has uploaded WindowsMobile2003SE.exe to FTP and I've just attached it to my previous post.
EXE file contains 2.06 ROM, 1.14 GSM ROM and several files in extended ROM:
AutoRun.exe
TPDisable.exe
TPEnable.exe
Config.txt
CallerIDB10_Hima25_WWE.CAB
CameraB10_Hima25_WWE.CAB
ClearVue3.4.381WWE_0616_Ozonup.sa.CAB
MMS15024_WWE_Hima_OzUp.sa.CAB
Version_OU.sa.CAB

HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM.RAR contains:

AutoRun.exe
BTPSKeyUpdate_003.exe
TPDisable.exe
TPEnable.exe
Config.txt
Caller_ID_WWE_RC10.CAB
CameraRC141_WWE.sa.CAB
CprogHook.WM2003_2577.CAB
EmailWiz_v1.01.0003_NL_1027.CAB
IntelliDialer_T-Mobile_WWE_RC10.CAB
IntelliPad_TMO_WWE_B12.CAB
Landscap_WarningMsg_A_220112.sa.CAB
LoadDialogInit_MS_10150402.sa.CAB
MIDI561.sa.CAB
MMS_v2.0.0.13_BA_WWE_0831.CAB
OEM_CHS_OU_04110301.sa.CAB
"spb_gprs_v2.20(build487)_magician_wwe_1007_cid.cab"
i.e much more files, but it has camera problems in landscape mode.
Himalaya_WM2003SE_Upgrade.zip is 2.02 version and WindowsMobile2003SE.exe contains a newer 2.06 ROM. I don;t know what is the difference betwen them. Both of them don't have Windows Media Player 10.

Hi guys....

Do you guys happen to have problems with the speakers?
They are simply too loud when I need to answer a call.

This happen after restored Mamaich's previous Chinese->English xbackp RAR package together with the WM2003SE (Chinese). In addition, I've also upgraded the Radio to 1.18

Please advise...

Trying the 2.06 version now, boots with 'TEST ONLY NOT FOR SALE' black writing with PPC2003 logo screen.

Few things noticed:

The bluetooth headset selection intermittently disappears from the today screen.

Had some minor graphical issue with a persistent unwanted menu hanging around.

Boots and runs VERY FAST!

There are no operator presets at all, OR... seems to reset (at the end???) after installing extrom contents. Maybe its a crash reset and the operator stuff didnt install its usually towards the end.

No 'Running Programs' in programs.

Did I mention its nice and fast? :-)

My SD Card works again (did not work with chinese 2.20)

Relatively stable, WMP 9 only, but if you are willing to ignore a few minor oddities this is a blazing fast, if light, rom.

Good work! Its a fine start leading to an eventual holy grail 2003 SE Final lol :P

Upgraded OS & Radio, no problems at all. :D

While waiting, I managed to customise an official 02 extended nbf, rewrote the configs to suit vodafone au and incorporated the SE changes.

Just flashing it now - will let you know how it all went.

Hi dcs,

1)do u think is it possible for me to recook the rom by adding cab files extracted from 1.60 Asia rom like PegasCE-sdio.2577.cab and ClearVueV2.4.380WWE.sa.CAB and also telco setting like Maxis.cab, O2ASIAMaxis_AP_20040211.sa.CAB ?
These above mentioned files are meant for gprs and mms setting for my country.

2) Do u think is it alright to combined the mystery man rom wif your HIMA_WM2K3_EXTROM?

3) Your se rom seem missing of ms_.nbf file. During the upgrading process, is it fine without that file? Or would the process be half way hanged due to this missing file.

4) Is there any possibility to upgrade one by one (I mean the Nk.nbf, ms_.nbf and Radio_.nbf) respectively? Or shall i upgrade all of it together in one time (for your se rom would be only the NK.nbf and Radio_.nbf)? Else which is the best way?

Thanks.

What a great news this morning!
A BIG thanks to both dcs and mamaich, not to forget fychan and the mistery-man.

Since there are now 2 WWE WM2003SE upgrades available to choose from(talking about luxury . . .), Is it possible that the current users of these ROMS post their experiences.
I allready read that the 2.02 (from dcs) is very fast & stable (also with camera & landscape).
What about the 2.06? Since it is newer, one should expect it is also better . . . (yeah I know in IT 'better' most of the time means 'different' or 'incompatible').

So: Any volunteers that post their experience WITH the version no's they are using?

I been on the ROM 2.20 , chinese ROM . And now I know whats meaning of Windows Media Player 10 and some more sophisticated stuff . But I know nothing about chinese language , and mamaich english extending pack did not translate everything , so I decide to switch to ROM 2.02.t1WWE . And one thing I can say : It have some difference with
ROM 1.72 but not much as ROM 2.20 .
I hope Mamaich will do the full english translation . But how can I push him to do that ? And probably he do not have to translate anything and just wait for a english latest ROM .

So ... I am on the ROM 2.02 at the moment . And I thing the best way is to wait for a few days . Sure better ROM is coming , better then 2.06 .

And sure I want to thank Mamaich and DCS ! :P

@double_ofour:

The MysteryMan ROM is the one posted by mamaich at the top of page 2.
You can ALWAYS find Radio 1.18 anywhere in these forums, but it is the Radio included with dcs's upgrade AND is available as a seperate install from mamaich as well.
ExtROM version : 2.06.100a ( mysteryman - DCS stuff combined ) is the combination of AFTER an install of 2.06.100a (i.e. mysteryman ROM) THEN unlocking the ExtROM and adding some things from the ExtROM provided by dcs, change the config.txt and hard reseting.

@dherrero:
You have installed the 'Landscap_WarningMsg_A_220112.sa.CAB' from the external ROM and therefore will have this warning continually... take it out of your config.txt and hard reset.

Any response to my query?

If you have not succeeded in upgrading your device to any of the 1.72 versions posted here, I think it is better to do that first.
The 1.72 ROM's are mature & stable.

The SE Himalaya packes are still under development, so if you dont know what youre doing: stay away from it for now.

If you're un-experienced, it is probably better to WAIT for a few days until a mature full-upgrade package will be available. (also saves you an extra risky flash operation)

If you DO want to upgrade NOW, at least READ this sticky post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101) from dcs on upgrading BEFORE you ask questions on basic upgrade issues . . .

Sorry, but I get a little annoyed in seeing a lot of posts on these basics in a thread where SE should be the subject . . .

@jeff:
The Boot-screens can be changed by opening the ExtROM (ms_.nbf) with ER2003Edit (download from xda-developers).
Simply extract the bitmaps and replace with anything you like.
In an attempt to contribute to the recent additions to the SE ROMS, I edited the bootscreens in de mistery-man ExtROM to the files as attached. Maybe it saves you some editing . . .

Those with the Asian EXT_ROM can just run 6in1.cab to restore your O2 Boot Screen :)

@edsub:

Thanks, I cannot seem to get into the file "password" issue - I am sure that this has been covered countless times in this forum and maybe I am too lazy to look through the already 1000's of pages because the Search php is not adept to hunt ONE word searches, but I dont know how to get into the nbf images that were created by the Myster Man ROM due to the lack of a password and furthermore I am unable to install due to the country ID install errors... I think that maybe I might be batting out of my league, I know that you don't learn unless you do, but I have done and ain't learned nutttin! This isn't the place to address these issues, but continue and I will try to catch up with the experts as I am able to know how to unlock with the password, manipulate the nbf images and THEN enjoy the install of the Mystery Man 2.06WWE SE ROM...

My experience with

ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM Date: 06/14/00
Radio version: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
ExtROM version: 2.06.100a

Runs very fast (same as chinese)
Faster reboot, screen is accessible immediately after reboot
Inbox(Outlook) is handling MMS, SMS, IMAP4, POP3
File Manager is missing the "back" button - compared to chinese ROM
Connection status is shown together with signal strength (CHS ROM shows separate GPRS/wireless status icon)
Better looking icons (new design), but not as many as in CHS ROM
There are some more programs (utilities) in CHS ROM, e.g. BT profiles selector
WMPlayer ver 9 (CHS ROM has already ver 10)

That's it 4 now....

Have a nice day everybody... :o)

Hi,
how do i install HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM.RAR? thanks

If you extract it's contents into the same folder that the HimaUpgradeUt.exe is executed from, it will automatically be included and install an extended rom after a hard reset.

The other alternative is to download the mystery_man version: To customise it, use er2003edit to edit the ms_.nbf file (password 0x20040305). The config.txt file can be extracted, modified and re-embeded along with any additional files and splash screens.

Using bootloader 1.03, I've combined the mystery_man version OS (2.06.00WWE) with mamaich's radio version (1.18.00) and edited the mystery_man extended rom version (2.06.100a) to include the original splash screens from 02, pegasus sdio and vodafone au customisations.

Can't fault any aspect of the new SE, no screen flicker, camera & landscape works great. The whole system is stable & running fast. :D

All that's needed now is to embed MediaPlayer 10 & MSReader.

Strange how some investigative searching and thought can usually answer your own questions... Ya live and ya learn.

I figured it out and am at 51% of the Mystery Man ROM with a changed boot image (thanks to edsub) and a bit of changing to the ExtROM...

Let you all know how it goes... by the looks of it - it should be OK

I doesn't know your meaning exactly.
But if you flash only Ext.ROM, your device won't be WM2003SE.
it means that you cannot use any feature of WM2003SE.
You need to flash main ROM (NK.nbf) too.

Hi all

First of all, heartfelt thanks to dcs and mamiach and everyone else involved in building 2.02.

I moved to dcs's 2.02 version (after making the necessary country code corrections) this morning and havent had any issues except with the start menu in landscape mode. However, been reading quite a few posts quoting lightning speed on 2.06 supplied by mystery man and couldnt help downloading the same.

However I am getting countrycode errors here and cant seem to replicate the procedure suggested by DCS for fixing the countrycode errors on this version.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance and all the best

WWE SE lookin great guys, well done to everyone who helped along tha way!!

one wee problem i need an answer for,

i flashed the 2.02.t1WWE se and 1.18.00 but i didnt have any extended rom flashed as i didnt have one at the time,

now i have mad a custom exrom using the lates orange spv m1000 extended rom,

can i flash this to the device itself and somehow execute the extended rom,
the older rom came up with an error like "programs not supported with this version" and then froze, i reset and obviously the exrom didnt install or re-execute...

so down to the point:
can i flash extended rom by itself?
can the extended rom be re-executed at a later time?

cheers everyone!

Mystery Man ROM is the BOMB, G!!!!! FAST AND it seems to be SO FAR STABLE!!!! :D

It took some messing with to get it configured so I can understand and appreciate a lot more now the steps involved....

CLEARTYPE without RESTART too!!! ON the chinese to English SE ROM from mamaich there was no cleartype, here there is!!!

This IS a true SE ENglish ROM :) WP is 9.0.1 Build 14132 - but who cares if it isnt the one in the 2.20CH ROM, at least we can understand what buttons are what!

This is a great christmas preset!!! Thanks to all and especially Mystery Man for his/her contribution to the community.

I have synchronised without any problem. Check the build number of your Activesync. - mine is 4034. I do know that Microsoft released some quite major fixes/changes under the guise of a new build when it really should have been a new release.

No matter what I do my device keeps freezing after 5 min. Tried both soft and hard resetting, but no luck. It even freezes during activesync. I have upgraded it twice already with DCS version, but no luck!

Flashing it a third time now, with minimum cabs in ext rom.

Hi everybody
Thanks to DCS and "Mysteryman"
Just Updated to DCS's Himalaya_WM2003SE-Upgrade.zip
ROM Version 2.02.tiWWE
Radio 1.18.00
Protocol 1337.38
Used ms.nbf from MysteryMan's Ms.nbf (2.06.0)
My impression:
1. Boots faster than 1.72 (I think) but want to compare with 2.06.0
2. Start menu has recent programs in the middle insted at top (I think it is feature of WM2003 SE or a Bug? :) )
3. Clock setting screen does not show analog clock
4. New Network cards menu in Connection setting
5. Programs menu has "Find" program :)
6. Pocket MSN is added
7. Sim manager and Sim toolkit work in landscape but the screen is not adjusted to Landscape.
8. Icons have become prettier (wait is more pleasent now)
9. Landscape works on all apps without flaw.
10. Bluetooth activesync is as tedious as before ( I think we need to put Widcomm 1.5.0 ;)

Will try 2.06.0 ROM from "Mysteryman" now and will tell you how that fares

Thanks for your help.

richchiao

A couple of things to take care with. Preferably you should have available the 1.52.00CHT ROM upgrade package for use later if needed. If you don't have that then it will be necessary to make a flashable backup to an SD card. There are threads on this subject. Also, changing from one language to another will require you to make modifications to the nbf headers in the supplied nbf files. See my post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101) for details on how to go about that.

I expect that all these things will come to be :). ZeroXtreme will be producing an Asian Extended ROM just like the great job he did with the recent 1.72 O2 release. The splash screens could be incorporated into the Extended ROM as a cab file (that's what I have done for my O2 splash screens). WMP10 I am sure will be made standalone so it can either be incorporated into the OS ROM or, at least into the Extended ROM.

will i be having problem upgrading or downgrading as my booloader is 1.06 :(

I don't think the considerations for bootloader v1.06 have changed because of this upgrade. v1.06 of bootloader applies one of two rules (not sure which) ... Either it does not allow an upgrade to a version lower than 1.66 or it does not allow an upgrade more than 1 version lower than the current one. Personally, I favour the former, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks.

I don't think there is much limitation on what you can cook into your own Extended ROM, except imagination :). However, as I stated in my original post, some applications will produce an error message about display compatibility which can be ignored, but the message has to be acknowledged for the Extended ROM installations to continue. Therefore it is important to ensure that the display can be tapped during Extended ROM installation, so disabling the running of TPDisable.exe is imperitive.

It is not necessary to have the ms_.nbf file present, it will not cause the upgrade to hang.

A nice way of installing that I like is to run the usual upgrade program for NK.nbf and Radio_.nbf and then after hard reset, enable Extended ROM reading and writing and place the required CAB files, etc in there along with suitably configured Config.txt and the Autorun.exe program. Then just run Autorun.exe and it will install Extended ROM in same manner as if after hard reset.

I don't think it should make any difference what version you upgrade from, except possibly some applications you may install later which worked on 1.60 but might have problems on SE. The basic functions of the device should be OK though, judging from the feedback so far in this forum.

A simple question that comes out..maybe someone will reply me in future..

Do you remember that Combo SD 256Mb and Wifi card was incompatible with Windows Mobile 2k3..
So,theorically now with Win 2k3SE it must run well? can someone verify that?

Thank you!

For changing the country ID error to T-mobile: is it good to make a .bat file like this and execute it?

xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306

xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMOBILE -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMOBILE -sl WWE Radio_.nba

xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba

xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306

I've created a .BAT file which can be run from a DOS prompt...

Usage: OperatorUpdate operatorID
where operatorID is O2 or CDL or TMOBILE, etc.

I have attached it here and also added it to my initial post, just unzip the zip file.

Please let me know if any problems with it.

Dear all,

Does the new ROM works with or have the following problems:

1) ActiveSync via Bluetooth
2) Bluetooth with headset profile to Jabra BT200 and BT250
3) Slow switch on and off the machine if there is a SD card in used. (I mean that cause a delay between 3 to 8 seconds from the time the power button is pressed).
4) Also with SD card in the SD slot clicking the bluetooth icon cause a delay of between 5 to 20 seconds for the setting page become active.

Kueh

Quick question:

Is it possible to use MMS_v2.0.0.13_BA_WWE_0831.CAB in the ROM that "mysteryman" uploaded?

Curerntly there's MMS15024_WWE_Hima_OzUp.sa.CAB in the Extended ROM from that upgrade.

EDIT: I had heard that Pocket Outlook handles MMS messages now - am I right in saying that was only in the Chinese ROM or is it also in the English ROMs that are available?

If not does anyone have a link to the blackberry CAB file I'll give it a test once the upgrade has finished, and report my findings.

Good question! I'm finding the MMS situation slightly confusing. Which is the best cab file to use, or is it neither because Outlook handles it? Is Video MMS still supported?

Also if Outlook is the preferred MMS handler, has provision been made for these messages to be backed up/restored using a PC?

Also keep up the good work with getting WMP10 included!

I've upgraded to the 2.06 SE ROM and installed a few apps - namely PocketPlus 2.2, Pocket Informat 5.61, Pocket Breeze 4.1, Calligrapher 7.4 and MessageEase 1.5.

I left the phone and it duly turned itself off. I pressed the power button but nothing happened. Pressing soft-reset is the only way to get it back.

I also noticed that on occasion, when the backlight turns off after 30 seconds that the touch screen no longer responds. If I then press the power button the device then goes into the off state and I have to soft-reset to get it back again.

kinda depends,
if your rom has tbdisalbe.exe on it you will get errors (no doubt) about the apps not being supported on the new rom and you will not be able to click the ok button,

u could try it (i did on my old rom) if u ge probs then get a new/modified rom with tpdisabled NOT enabled (in the config.txt) and u can get your exrom to work...

Sometime the bluetooth icon on the Today screen would disappear like when switching between hard buttons or from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa. The bluetooth service, however, is still working just that the icon disappear from the Today screen.

A glitch or the responsible file is corrupted? Anyone has this problem?

Hello!

I am getting Country ID error. What name of operator should I use on my -mate? I've tried WWE and it didn't work. Help. please/

well I installed WM2k3SE and so far so good, looks way better than the original WM2k3, Intellidialler works like a charm (bye bye PhonePlus). All software works just like before. I found one bug, every once in a while I get my today screen all distorted, I have to change skin for it to go away, (I can live with it, but I just thought I should menction it.

Other than that, IT ROCKS!. Can't wait for WMP10!!!

Oh...I love the font sizing feature, now I have my font a tiny bit smaller, and looks nicer than before.

"The program you have installed may not display properly becoz it was designed for a previous version pf Windows mobile software"

Hmm.....is it mainly due to majority apps are created far back before the launch of WM2003SE or that error msg is just a bug that coz by extraction from extended rom..

Although we can just forego it by clicking the ok button, nevertheless it is very annoying whenever a new application is installed in the ppc. So anyone got the solution?

Been trying to install back all the apps to test on this latest SE. Here are the results:

1) Battery Pack Pro v1.11-Seem ok but still not specifically designed for SE version
2) Sprite Backup Plus v3.1-ok but becareful wif selective installation files only
3)Ringtonex-so far so good
4)Jgui phone profiles v3.1- 99% ok only not in SE

Will continue somemore when free.....

Best Regard

First of all I'd like to thank everybody for their efforts which finally allows the Himalaya devices to run WM2003SE
I've personally install ROM 2.06.00, Radio 1.18.00 and Extended ROM 2.06.100a but since I find the extended ROM a bit lacking, I've decide to cook my own Extended ROM.
This Extended ROM adds the autoconfig from the Asia ROM, blackberry services for the UK ROM, ExtendedROMUnlocker from xda-developers and other stuff from various ROMS. I've also changed the boot splash image to default o2 images.
As there is limited space for the cabs, I can't put in everything, such as Intellidialer, Intellipad, spb GPRS Monitor, Socket WLAN driver and etc.
Here is the contents of config.txt:

CAB: \Extended_ROM\ExtendedROMUnlocker.arm.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Broadcast_WWE.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CallerIDB10_Hima25_WWE.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\ClearVue3.4.381WWE_0616_Ozonup.sa.CA B
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MIDI561.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CameraB10_Hima25_WWE.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CameraRC10_Streaming_reg.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MMS_v2.0.0.13_BA_WWE_0831.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\sales_service.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\hk_html.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\O2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\bluetooth.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\cm_rm_map_o2_v3.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\HTC_PocketPC_1.2.4.19_O2_England.cab
CAB: \Extended_ROM\VideoMMSB21.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\AudioPatch_Media.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\battery_OU_081304.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Version_OU.sa.CAB
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\BTPSKeyUpdate_003.exe
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\Autoconfig.txt
CPY2:\Windows\Autoconfig.txt
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\02.tsk
CPY2:\Windows\02.tsk
EXEC:\Windows\Autoconfig.exe
RST: Reset

Note that the touch panel is not disabled at all, so after installing and hard resetting, just tap ok on the dialog boxes that says the program may not display properly. Also after autoconfig, tap no when asked whether restart device now.
Finally, this Extended ROM is provided as is. It is intended to help others as this forum has certainly helped me a lot. It worked for me, but USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

To all who have asked me: YES, I will try to put together a new ExtROM (as part of a new upgrade package) for the WM2003SE 2.06 ROM / 1.18 Radio configured for T-Mobile NL (thus also useable for T-Mobile in other countries). This will take some time however, but it ensures: We get the very latest changes & the least bugs in one.
My plan is to release somewhere in the next two weeks. As allways i will start a new thread on it when its there.

Looking at what you have put as the contents of the bat file, you have not encrypted the nba files back into nbf files. You have updated the checksum twice instead. This means you were using the original nbf files, untouched. Once you have sorted that out, you should be able to just re-run the upgrade.

OK. You need to take a look at my post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101) and carry out steps 3-5 to find out what operator your device is currently set to. It may not be what you expect, because of any previous upgrades.

so it suggests it is meant to be a stable build. The WMP10 does not get included until build 14235, and indeed it looks like 14260 is the latest.

Found 14260 from an update from Dell that includes WMP10. They provide it as images.

If only.

You have fallen foul of the 'hidden' data in an ms_.nbf file that changes your device settings! Look at my post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101) for details on how to fix it.

I've successfully installed this ROM on my M1000. I started off with the 2.06 rom but that crashed with an SD card in (wouldn't power back on after turning off). Tried the 2.02 and have had no problems since.

Even better WM2003 SE supports BT handsfree profile! I can now flip open my Motorola HS810 headset to answer a call and use the button to make calls without touching the phone. Worth the upgrade just for that!

Had the same problems (this was my first time) but got it to work by:

Replacing "WWE" in the following instructions (from an earlier post) with the Language shown in the "DeviceData.txt" file created by the Himagetdevicedata.exe (in my case it was "GER") -please look to the end of this post for further important info

Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306

Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require by entering the following commands at the command prompt substituting <operator> with the required value:

Code:
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba

Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

Code:
xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba

Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:

Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306

But also needed to do these additional steps before upgrading:

xda2nbftool -x MS_.nbf MS_.nba 0x20040305
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl <language> MS_.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u MS_.nba
xda2nbftool -x MS_.nba MS_.nbf 0x20040305

By the way the resulting install was in english not in GER.

Runs beautifully! Thanks to all involved, you guys rule!

Cheers,

Martin
