Hi,

Well, we have used the pmemdum tool to make a backup of imate jam rom (pmemdump 80000000 4000000 rom.raw). So the next step is "how can we use this file to flash this rom on our mda". Any idea ?

Thanks

I already did that with an imate JAM and my MDA compact you just have to overwrite the header of the imate ROM with the ORIGINAL header of your MDA Compact then use ntrw to transfer it to an SD card and get your Compact into bootloader modes with the SD inserted wait for a few seconds and it will tell you to press the power butoon to flash!
Mine worked fine! The problem is How can we copy the Radio ROM and flash that too since it seems to be a newer version?

no katsj, files are totaly diferents. there is no header, there is no more than the os (ms+extended). I tried to add my german header before without success...

No effect! When I open that files I see the rest of Jam header, so I copy my Ger header from 416b even from 485b. Nothing! And the other interesting thing in original T-mobile ROM MS starts from line 0000001190 but in that jam ROMs it starts from 0000001000 line, 190 is missing, but when I try to add missing header noting change. If any of you guys would be so kind to post normal (as it is no changes) Jam ROM made with mtty n2b tool and zipped till 20mb I would very appreciated! :)

OK, so now i know how use it :

Make a backup of your rom using the classic process (bootloader, mmtty and d2s but enter "d2s 80000000 4000000".
Download the backup using ntrw
Open your backup with HHD Hex editor
OPen the imate rom
Select all the imate rom (CTR+ALT+END) and edit>Copy
Close the imate rom
Go to the offset 19c on your backup
Edit>Paste
Save your backup
Transfert the backup to your SD
And now the classic process : bootloader with the SD card, power to start the falsh
You will have the classic checksum erro but it works.

That file was not uploaded by me! I didn't manage to upload my file that includes the header! But you solved the problem!
What we have to find out now it HOW TO DUMP THE RADIO ROM. iMate JAM has a newer version of both the radio ROM which is R 1.01.00 and not R 1.00.10 and also the second part of the ROM on imate is G 1337.38 and not G 1337.36 as on our MDA Compact. Any ideas how can I dump those two parts of the iMate ROM so we can fully upgrade our MDA Compact?????
Please be fast as long as I still have the iMate JAM on my hands!

Did everything as it was written here! It started to download checksum was error, but after hard reset nothing happened. Compact was dead, totally dead, black screen nothing! Thank God the boot loader was working, so I restored original ROM. Any ideas why it happened?

Ok! Jam ROM is working, but I see no dramatic changes from T-mobile. More of that, customization failed because it tried to load some Arabic settings. Was it worth it? May be somebody would post original Jam ROM from England? :(

Nick-II..

What did you to to get it working the second time ? I had the same "dead" problem......

The windows should be diferent... 1.0.3 WWE instead of 1.0.1 WWE for the arabic problem... give it reset just afer the first time you see the Today screen, and manualy run the cab files in the Extenden rom. with out all the arabic stuff..... :)

You can also leave all the stuff out you don't need, like the KSE Fax stuf.. Saves some program memory.

Cheers.

Pinooo, Mda was dead but boot loader was working, so I decide to do a pure experiment. I returned my original German ROM to Compact ( I had a copy since first English-MDA_NL ROM Flash) Then I copied it to SD using MTTY with d2s 80000000 4000000, after as it was written above. ……so I had a SD with Jam ROM, but friendly speaking I replaced it back with MDA-NL. JAM ROM was not so stable, my compact used to self reset and hanged up few times. So it is better to wait until official MDA WWE NL ROM I suppose it would be soon. Now my device working just perfectly comparing to MDA II and I am very happy with English ROM. All that dealing with Jam ROM and other stuff is just a sport to me! :D

Iwant to do an English upgrade for my MDA Compact bought in Germany.
Must I remove the Simcard first during the whole process? or can I simply do it without having to remove it?

BTW, what is MMTY? is that already in the 240,000 KB Zipped file? or should download it from somewhere?

Please help me. Thank for your help in advance.

MTTY = romupgrade.exe
And the imate JAM ROM is tottaly stable! And there is a dramatic improvement in the pictures quality and the video quality! Video is smooth and does not have those vertical brakes anymore.
I guess your copy of imate JAM ROM was corrupted since I use that ROM in my MDA for a week now and I didn't have a single Reset!
