View Full Version : My gift to the community for Xmas!

well, Here are my presents to the community from your dear friend Yorch!

First. A cool WMA ringtone of Kenny Wayne Shepperd and his great guitar in "Rudolph the red nose reindeer", those without WM2003 (there are not many, I bet), just convert the WMA into a WAV.

This ringtone is loud, clear, and small, comments welcomed.

Next, a set of bootimages, to give your newly upgraded XDAII a better look.
To use these:
1. Upload the contents of bootimages.zip into the \Windows directory in your XDAII
2. Upload the MDA3_bootimage_changer2.CAB into the XDAII and run it. this will install the bootimages.
3. soft reset, and enjoy!

ok.... for sometime your (YORCH) ringtone actually did work....but then all of a sudden it stopped working after i upgraded my caller id....it just wont play now... i tried to create a .wma myself n place it in the rings folder but tht wont play too.

i am using all2wma software to convert .mp3 to .wma but that wont work too not the ringtone you've given too, any ideas ?

try this :
use 'FILE EXPLORER' (start---program), tap & hold your wma file--choose Set as Ringtone.
go to Start---Setting--Phone & choose your ringtone.

HTH.

no actually it worked out, the problem i was having is that i am using pocket music to play .mp3 and i wanted to play .wma too with pocket music so i assigned .wma to pocket music and by doing that the ring tone would'nt work as soon as i removed the file type .wma from pocket music i got the ring tone back :)

Just to confirm, the MDA3_bootimage_changer2.CAB will change the bootscreen on a XDA2. I know the instructions say it is for the xda2, I just want to make SURE before I run it.

Thanks

Not sure why but my boot screens using these images look awful, it looks like a very heavily compressed .jpg image with lots of patches of colour and blockiness.

Has anyone else seen this or have I done soemthing wrong?

I've solved it now, strangely when I logged in from my home PC I couldn't see the download files even though I was logged into the forum. I hadn't realised that they had been provide as .nb files so simply copied the .jpg images in the post and converted them.

Logging in from work I can now see the download links, odd but all working now.

You need to be logged in to see the download, it's in the post directly above yours but won't be visible until you log in to the forum.

Lovely stuff!
For ease of use I have trimmed the ringtone down a bit - just the first part of the guitar riff and saved it as wav file.
