Hi,

Wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem.

I have purchased a SanDisk WiFi card so I can be properly mobile around the house (I ActiveSync with WiFi, browse the net and remote admin my network and servers from my XDA II) and up until now has been working a treat (if a little power hungry).

I noticed yesterday that the SanDisk WiFi was not being detected by my XDA II when I inserted it, the only way to recognise it is to reboot the XDA II which will then recognise it and active the WiFi.

I wanted to sync with my Exchange Server so I went through the usual routine of inserting the WiFi card, noticed it the XDA II did not pick up the card so rebooted (soft reset) the XDA II which then proceeded to connect to the Acitve Directory network and sync with the Exchange 2003 box. While it was synching in the background I decided to take a look at my schedule and hit the Start button however the XDA II slowed right down, the Start button appeared and froze and then in an instant the XDA II had hard reset itself displaying the Welcome to Windows Mobile 2003 setup screen... WTF?!

I have never seen this before, good thing I had backed up device so I only lost two days of work but it's a little scary to say the least (I am now taking backups daily). I am not sure if its to do with the WiFi card (the fact that its not being recognised when hot plugging into the SD slot) or with the apps that are installed on my XDA II.

My current config is as follows:

Windows 2003 Mobile Premium Phone Edition
O2 Active User Interface (I kept this as I use O2 for my phone)
SPB Plus 2.01 (Today Plugin removed as it crashes the XDA II)
Pocket Informant 5.2
Microsoft Voice Commander
Pocket Weather (freeware weather app for the today screen)
Bluetooth Profile removed from the Today Screen

ROM Version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 03/15/04
Radio version: 1.17.00
Protocol version: 1337.28
ExtROM version: 1.72.181

Cheers,

Taz

Well I don't have to worry about crashes any more, I cooked my own Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition ROM using DCS & Mysteryman's files and now everything is working perfectly about 10 times faster than before :)
