NO service on 1900Mhz

I did an update/upgrade on my XDA2 with the SIM card in the unit a couple months back. What I have noticed however is that I recently purchased the PDA2K and the same SIM that was in the XDAII when it was upgraded, I placed it the PDA2K and what I noticed is that the PDA2K is showing No Service even in areas where there are good signal strength.

My question is whether or not their is a possiblity that anything could been tranfered to the SIM when it was in the XDA2 that could have been tranfered to the PDA2K seeing that the PDA2K is still a virgin. Note that I have also tried a different SIM and received the same response. What can I do?

Hi Silver, have you been able to solve your problem?

I am in Trinidad and I also have a PDA2k which recently shows, "No Service" in certain locations but if I place the SIM in another phone I get excellent signal strength.

When I am in jamaica roaming, I get C&W at the airport but I can only see Digicel for most of the time I am there. I am curious to see if this is the same problem that you have and if you were able to get to the root of it.

I too have been experiencing this problem. I thought that initially the phone was picking up the first newtork it found but even after setting manually i get the same problem. I have a Cingular SIM and the phone does not experience this problem when i am in the US be it Miami New York or Washington or even Toronto
