To get it to work on a Magician U need a dual adapter like that .. but it must have a L connection to the dual sim holder.. so it can be put over the battery .. under the cover..

Like this (ignore the dots):

......2xSIM
.............|
...SIM__|

Take a look to: http://www.szfeifan.com/products.html
I think he's the only manufacturer in the world.
You can refer to MAI- type when you purchase a dual sim adapter from your provider.
On my xda2 I use E-type; fit well and doesn't create hard reset on the machine (it happened using A-type).
Remember to switch off radio before remove back cover and battery

This link doesn't work.
I'm using this one: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/4989.htm
You can find it for a better price .

It works prefectly (so far). But there is a little problem,

You should try at least twice to open that link.
I've used a twin sim adapter, but didn't work on my mda2;it came from Honk-Kong (about € 10 incl.S&H charge, 1 year ago). Moreover it caused one sim destroy (I think by electric short cut).
Talking about dual sim adapter it's better method 'cause you don't need to cut your sim cards (for eventual single use).
Basically they're almost same;you should choose among them on the basis of their shape (I don't know sim housing of your compact model) but some of them don't reach perfect contact with sim housing, causing hard reset (remember to full back-up data before start experience).
I've bought two models (MAI-A and E) from e-bay (search for www.morpethmobiles.co.uk) for GBP 2 each and GBP 1,5 for all P&P surcharge.
It's not expensive,so you can buy several models to test on you ppc and also on other gsm phone.

so do you switch between cards by a soft reset or flight mode?

it could be annoying everytime you have to do a soft reset if you have to do another one to get your original simm back!

Anyone have any experience of this?

any recommendations about which shape to use?

I use to switch between sim by flight mode; same result by soft reset.
Another way is to use STK if you're able to clone two or more sims on a blank sim (up to ten sims); this way you'll find a menu containing the list of your cloned sims to switch among.
Not easy to clone sims if they're 2002 on (comp v2 protocol).

Cor,

So, does that mean I could put both phone numbers on one sim card (like the second line)? if so, that's a much more elegant solution.

Both of my sims would be newer than 2002. Have you got any idea / reference how i can do this?

Thanks :-)

i have the adapter from my xda2 which i try to fit into my mini. The gap between the battery and cover is just too compact, it cannot be done without modifying the back cover.

Sorry about my late answer.
You can download some useful sw by searching google for "sim clone"; be careful to read fora, because some of them contains spyware that can spread k1 of your sim (so other can make call using your sim).
The problem is that you cannot at the time take sim code by collision method (using smart card reader) from sim since 2002 on (usually over 32k sim).
Anyway you'll have one line only and you've to switch before two or more lines (even if they're on same sim).
To have 2 phone lines working at same time, you've to buy a phone called "duetto"; it's really a double phone joined in the middle.
Some phone companies are selling sim with two numbers (you an choose between home and work number and you can have one or both lines opened at same time); they're for business and recently also for private use; anyway you've two lines connected to same company.

It does not work with xda2 and you've to cut 2 sims (not sure you destroy them).
I've payed €10 for one of them incl. P&P from HK.
Anyway it works with other gsm phine.
Actually I'm using dual sim adapter MAI-E and it works very well (mind to switch off phone before remove battery in order to avoid hard reset).

Anymore news on this? Is it still remotely possible for us to get 2 sim cards into this sleek baby.

I use my old King of Doubles from SaintJoy character in Singapore, works fine. I had to smushh it under the battery, but it fit. I suggest you get one that fits easier, I couldn't be bothered. thanks
