Just wanted to give you people in europe a link to a site with a nice price for this original Motorola product:
Go to http://www.pixmania.com and search for VC700 and you will find it.
its 8,50 euros + shipping. Not much to think about, just buy it >:)

It would be prudent to be aware that cigarette lighter charging is the most reckless for the lithium battery lifespan due to the uneven charging current.

I have tried to use my V3 car charger with my mini
but:
the charge indicator light is not as usual
if i charge on wall charger or usb, the amber indicator light is solid either the mini is on or off but if I charge using the v3 car charger, the amber light is solid and charging if the mini is on but if i cwitch off the mini the amber light went off too,
I am afraid something might go wrong, so asking first the experience of other who have tried it
pls comment, thanks

I found a nice product (especially if you have several brand of phones/PDAs), it is called iGo and small adapters called iTips for different phones can be bought separatly:
http://www.igo.com/product_detail.asp?ProductCode=MOB+PS0221-10
For the mini i use the iTip for motorola razr.
Edit: For swedish users the iGo is sold in GEAB stores

I was just going to post about the C500 car charger. Is the power output of the C500 unit OK to use with the MDA-Compact?

On a slightly related subject, does anyone know if other Razor V3 accessories work on the Magican? is there a compatible stereo handsfree kit that uses the mini usb socket?

the 2.55mm jack can support most headsets with this size but if you're looking for stereo ones you can use SE P900/910 or Moto's MPx 220's headsets. the mini usb is for power/sync.

Mine is very different, i wonder if anyone else has it?
Okay I bought an ADAPT BT GPS from Netherlands.
It came with a car charger which consists of a cigarette plugin which has a USB socket buikt into it and then a seperate USB plug to Nokia charger which goes into the GPS unit.
However using the cigarette plugin, I can also charge my C500 or my M500 using the USB lead which came with the C500 and M500 - happy days! :)

It will,but....
I used to charge my old jam with it(i have an MDAII now, couldn't live with 64 MB RAM!!!),it used to charge it with a Motorola charger that has a mini USB socket(i think it was the v3 one),but slowwwwly...I noticed later that the jam charger has an output around 2 AMP...this is 2000 mAMP...the phone chargers,in general, have a max output of 800 mAMP,wich can charge the PPC battery but takes 2 to 2.5 times longer...

Bought my car-charger in Germany directly at a T-Punkt, the package says it's for a TMO SDA & charges very nice. Can handle 24V as well & contains a stabilizer. Was around 14€ last summer.
I was very disappointed with the charger that came with my BT GPS, just like the adept, it kept the backlight on when plugged in, but charging .... took ages. The original from TMO is OK though.
You can find them on the web too, sorry to say I lost the site's address.

I have some car charger tested. 700mA, 850mA, 1A, they work not with my compact. it has 1.01.00 CE - 1.01.124 extended rom and 1.00.10 radio, battery life was maximum 2 hour 37 minutes.
after the update 1.13.00 from T-mobile website. it has worked with car charger and the battery life is now 4 hour 20 minutes.
wonderfull.....

I have bought a leadtek 9553X bluetooth GPS and it comes with a cigarrete-usb charger that works perfectly with the i-mate jam.
The specifications are 5v 1A, the same that the jam original wall charger, and the cigarrete adapter has a usb female so any cable with will be usable.
If I find a cable that also fit mi creative zen xtra plug (who also uses 5v 1A) I will be very happpyyyyy.
Any idea?
Sorry about my poor english
