Why don't you just wait for an Orange ROM update? Or wait till someone posts theirs on here?
I used to swap my phones under the insurance but now the following things have happened.
1. I'm a little older & wiser.
2. Orange charge admin fee for each claim.
3. If its like what happened to me, the courier doesn't show up and u get a courier failed delivery fee!
4. Chances are next week the Rom update will be on the Orange site.
and the most important one
5. It's fraud.

I could understand your point if my phone was more than a month old. But it is only two weeks old! It was replaced through faulty key pad before.
Also it saves me having to do the upgrades if they are done already.
Just cause they are replacing it does not mean that it will come with the new ROM anyway!!

Well yeah thats true I suppose,
Must admit I got my M2000 and 2 days later the keyboard was loose, I rang them up a few days later and got a brand new replacement, the replacement lasted for approximately 12 hours before the phone part buggered up (knowing what I know now, the radio rom was corrupted), then I got this one about the 8th December and its a good un...
I think if you are at the end of your contract and intend replacing your phone, its always nice to have a brand new replacement old phone to sell on ebay  not my fault if the display goes off a week before you upgrade it eh?

Turned up at 10.15pm this evening, has all the new ROM, BT, so I am pleased with it.
Have not tested it to see if everything works yet, but so far so good.

How to i make an image for you guys then?
Well, what we could do with is the extended rom to start with. Best way to get at this is to do the following.
1. Download the Extended Rom Unlocker (ftp://xda:xda@forum.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_ROM_Kitchen_1_22/Tools/xda-developers%20_Unlocker.CAB), copy to your PDA and install.
2. Then from Programs/Extrom Tools, run unhide. Then soft reset. You should now be able to see the 'Extended_ROM' folder in the route of 'My Device'.
3. Copy the contents of this folder to your PC and ZIP or RAR them together. Name the file Orange_UK_SPVM2000_Ext_ROM_131124.
4. Post to the Extended Rom (ftp://xda:xda@forum.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_Roms/) folder on the BlueAngel FTP site.
Then post us here to let us know the job is done.
Thanks in advance.

It appears that some people have been sent out with the 1.12.00 Rom, so it seems like Orange are shipping out old refurb stock or they really did have some left of the old batch.
More reasons to post the new Rom on here! Hint Hint!

Zip or rar your extended rom files. Now Right click on the newly created zip/rar file. Right click-->Copy.
Go to ftp://xda:xda@forum.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_Roms and right click-->Paste
That should do the trick :-)

Hi,
Can I use this ROM on my (Swedish) Qtek9090, or is that looking for trouble?
With an upgrade I hope to be relieved from a very annoying bug in my current version (every once in a while the speaker from the phone is dead when I call or are being called; a soft reset "cures" that).
Hope anyone can tell me if it is (reasonably) save to upgrade with this new ROM.
thanks
You could potentially use the 1.31 ROM on your Qtek assuming that you want a English install. I wouldn't recommend using the 1.31.124 Extended Rom discussed here, since that is in the most part Orange UK's customisations, and not of much use to someone from Sweden.
I have had the same problem with the speaker on my phone, on ROM 1.22, Radio 1.06.02. Since I've only just upgrade to ROM 1.31 I can't tell if the problem is fixed.
Hi,
Thanks for your answer. By the way; I am Dutch and my Qtek is English. Only it appeared to be "Swedish Sold" (Brighton), as I was one of the first to have one in The Netherlands.
As I understand, I have no need of the Extended Rom because it is mainly Orange UK specific, but I might have use for the ROM 1.3.
I guess I have to wait until it is issued by the www.qtek.nu or www.qtek.se sites. (Or is it available elsewhere allready?)/
In the mean time I am very interested wether the ROM 1.31 solved your (our) problem, or not.
Thanks,
Frank
