Wonder or it is wise to buy a high speed SD card.
I don't know or the Magician can handle the high speed.
If it just uses normal speed i could better buy a cheap normal SD card.
Anyone know or a fast SD card is faster on the magician than a normal SD card?

Most people will recommend cards which are stable.
If the 128Mb mod is available in your location you need not worry about a high speed SD card. Although if you are planning to use GPS software, then you may need to check.
I bought a genric card and MP3s play fine. Retreiving it takes a good 3 seconds.

i seriously doubt the usefulness of a fast card in the magician
i have tested generic cards like the basic sandisk and lexar ones, and i specifically bought one that claims to be up to 20mb/s from japan (panasonic high speed pro, not the usa ones)
they both felt the same to me, perhaps a half second faster
I think this is due to the limitations of the SDIO in the magician (ie. interface limits, poor power design.. etc)

Are you aware of interface limits, poor power design etc in the Magicians SDIO slot, compared to other SDIO slots in other devices? Surely SDIO is SDIO?

In a word, No.

For now I think that the 128MB mod is TOO expensive...about 200EUR + shipment!!!...this is about half the price of the Magiciian    ...and if I want it have to send it abroad...the Magician isn`t officialy on sell in my country and I think it won`t be for about two months yet...I have bought a 512MB Sandisk SD card...and testing the card speed with System Mechanic it gave me about 0,94MB/sec of read speed...that isn`t much impressive....
So if someone could try this with some fast SD card I would apreciate very much his effort...

In a word, No.
you're right i don't
i commented based on what i've read from other threads here (u can search a bit)
and based on my exp.
if it indeed it's not limited than why would i feel this speed increase when i put it in a usb2.0 card reader?
maybe it's not limitations, maybe it's not power design or watever
but to answer this thread's main question no it's not worth it to spend extra for the high speed card for the magician, because it feels the same using the bundled lexar 256mb
if any of you are quite anal about this than perhaps you could please post a benchmark showing results that we can really observe
(maybe that can make me feel gd about paying double for high speed)
