Hi

Aye, ditto on the upload request please!! Not seen anything on O2's website, my xda or sourceo2. I sure hope they intend to make it available as a download on the same date rather than keep non corporate users waiting.

Hi

I assume that they mean the help+faq section and theres nought in there currently. Cant find anything on source o2 either. The XDAIIs launch rom has been in the wrong place on sourceo2 for over 2 months !!!! (they uploaded the wrong rom at first - XDAII launch rom - and hosed loads of peoples IIs machines)

Silly buggers

Bit disappointing that the BT build is still 3500, they sent that to us bout a month ago & it fixed next to nothing.

We've even made them pay for a couple of car kits to be replaced when the "compatible bt products" list proved to be garbage.

The most annoying thing for me is still the mic level/quality with the phone, this is obviously software related as it works ok with voice recording, skype & even works better wen on speakerphone. Any sign of this improving?

Evening ladies and gents!

Right, I'm this close to buying a 2s, but what is the liklihood of it ever geeting Blackberry connect?

I'm stunned by the short sightedness of o2 in this respect. It is the perfect device to use as a BB replacement, but the put the client on the xda II instead?

Smartner/xmail whatever just aren't viable alternatives I'm afraid, and I suspect that this will be the case for many people.

Cheers

Looks like O2 now have the thing on their upgrade web site. And two days early as well! :D Go grab it all from here (http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda_II/XdaIIs_launchROM.htm).

No mention of Blackberry though. Only major update is for bluetooth. :(

True, but given the crappy quality of my HS850's connection I am hopping this will be the biz for my use, at least.

My Singapore IIs has the below rom. Does anyone know why the ExtROM Version of my current rom is "newer" then the lastest update from O2? Is there is huge difference between Radio Ver. 1.02 and 1.06? Thank you so much if anyone is know enought to help.

ROM Ver:1.31.00WWE
ROM DATE:12/13/04
Radio Version:1.02.00
Protocol Version:1337.32
ExtROM Version:1.31.920WWE

Hmmm, I tried applying the update. Now the O2 Icon is over in the right of the screen and I cannot pull down the list of connections when I tap on it. Anyone know of a way to move it back to the old position?

Last time I looked, BlackBerry was provided by RIM in Canada, and not O2's offices in England. It's down to RIM to release a decent version of BB for IIs - one that O2 will sell.

I've been using a beta of it for a well, and it's OK but still freezes the device - and it's acknowledged it's a RIM problem.

So, would you like more buggy software.....?

Tap and hold on the o2 icon and you get access to the list of connections. There is also a slider to move the icon.

Hi

I want the old icon back! There was nothing wrong with it. This new stuff is a bloody disaster. To disconnect a GPRS connection you have to tap and hold for about 10 seconds to get the menu up of connections so that you can close them!!!!!!!!!! 10 bloody seconds, how **STUPID** the chaps at O2 have no sense at all. If you just tap the icon (like you used to be able to do) that 'O2 Active' rubbish appears.

I am gonna come up with a list of bugs that were not fixed, bugs that were fixed (v. small list), and stupid bahaviour/bugs newly introduced. O2 have to be the most useless company on the planet, with the worlds worst software developers.

To be honest all I want is the standard 'G' icon that appears before that o2 icon/o2 active rubbish loads. Anyone know how I can get this. Removing 'connections' from the startup list does not help.

you need to look at what was in the ExtRom and copy those files back that you want.

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ERK_X_112178

The files are can be found:
ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_ROM_Kitchen_1_22/Customization_Operator/O2_UK

I have just seen that the new extrom has been uploaded, I will run it through the kitchen

I received the same error when attempting to upgrade my o2 xda IIs; and now under the impression that the rom updates are region-specific. I have no clue as to which region my o2 xda IIs was intended for distribution. How can I determine which rom update is appropriate for my o2 xda IIs? Or, is there a work-around for the "country ID error"?

XDA IIs sucks. I cannot upgrade my ROM either, while I have so many problems with it (speaker, BT, screen, etc).
