So far - everything seems to be ok.
Its built 3500 on bluetooth - havent done much calling yet as I've had other work to do.
One thing I have noticed is that the clock has disappeared from the top of the today screen after I turned the unit on once reflashed.
Would be interested to find out if this has happened on other units.
The positioning of the O2 icon has also changed, but it doesnt now throw up the menu of active connections.
Also it gets in the way of window titles too.

try this to restore the clock, from tekguru
go into hklm\software\microsoft\shell
create a new dword called "TBOpt" and give it value 3.. soft reset.
0 = no time or date
1 = time
2 = date
3 = both

The new O2 icon in the start bar can be moved to suit.
Click and hold the icon - a window appears with a slider - you can use this to reposition the icon.
Nice
This method also opens the active connections list.

I just tryed the new upgrade. Know the only thing I have on my XDA IIs is a white screen with USB on top an v2.06 on the bottom. If I pull it out of the cradle it is a white screen with seiral on top and v2.06 on the bottom. What do I need to do know to get this thing to work?

Just a quick question.. None of the standard and forum-supplied passwords are valid to open the included roms. Am I missing something supposedly obvious??
Any assistance will appreciated.
Thanx ;-)

Downloaded & installed already - now testing !
One thing that impressed me was the speed of the upgrade - took less than 10 minutes to upgrade my XDAIIs, via USB.

Try rebooting your pc and running the update again
Re: the clock disappearing: it appears to be O2 active that removes the clock, if you prevent o2 active installing by resetting your xda when it prompts to install o2 active the clock is still there after the reset, but the reg edit restores it ok
Im now running
Rom Version: 1.31.00 WWE
Extended rom Version: 1.31.139 (with caller id 1.2)

I tried on mine, also Asian XDAIIs. It won't install, at least not without some tweaking as explained on this forum. Also at first try, I tried replacing the radio rom with 1.06.02 and ran the upgrade. It also bombed on that one.
Oh well.
Any news on when such upgrade would be available for Asian O2 XDAIIs?

Here is the link to the Xda IIs Upgrade Instructions & Release Notes (PDF file):
http://64.244.24.19/xda/Xda_IIs_131139_upgrade.pdf
It might be usefull to read before installing the upgrade. According to the manual this ugrade is only for devices sold by O2 UK and O2 Ireland. This may explain why it can't be installed on Asian version.

Hi all,
I have downloaded and installed the new upgrade, however, I have lost the screen flipping button!?!
this is what I did......
1> did a full backup
2> ran the update (failed)
3> ran it again (worked) saw the button!
4> restored my backup
5> button disappeared!
any ideas how to get it back?
Cheers

Hi
As AFAIK you cannot restore a full backup after doing an upgrade. Doing so would replace some of the upgraded files with old ones. You can restore your contacts databases etc, but you will have to manually install any 3rd party software, and manually configure the device to your liking.

Just upgraded mine versions are now:
Rom Version: 1.31.00 WWE
Date 12/13/04 (Which means that HTC gave this to O2 eons ago and they only just released it 2.5 months later!!!!)
Radio Version: 1.06.00 (latest is 1.06.02 so this is out of date)
Ext Rom: 1.31.139 WWE
Bluetooth build 3500 (latest is 3900)
I also notice Photo contacts V1.17 (latest is V1.20)
If this had been released back at xmas it would have been acceptable, but we have now waited 4-5 months for essential bug fixes from O2, and when they turn up, they are 2.5 months out of date already. Its pretty disgusting really. I shall avoid O2 as a provider in the future.

My XDAIIs was purchased in Australia.
Does this mean its an Asian XDAIIs or a UK XDAIIs or a German XDAIIs
Where does it fit in the list of countries.
How can I find out which rom works for my XDAIIs
I backed up my ROMS using the procedure on http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1
and this worked fine backed up all my ROMS fine but then when I went to do a SOFT Reset to re-start guess what !!!!!
My XDAIIs came up like I had hard reset it. I had to restore from Active Sync
Annoying !!!!

The latest rom upgrade does have a big problem. The o2 Active program reacts with the phone and causes crashes. Its also not needed IMO.
To stop it installing, when asked if you want to install Personal or Corporate , select Corporate . You have only 5 secs to select. The pin code is 0506.
If you have installed already, hard reset and follow procedure above.
I know there are other ways of removing O2 Active but this stops it being installed in the first place.

Has anyone figured out how to upgrade the Asian version of the IIs?
My friend has a new XDA IIs from UK with updated ROM, can I copy it and install it on mine :?:
I've tried a bunch of different option and followied the upgtrade directions from the wiki site with no success, other than upgrading my radio to v1.08
When I attempt to run the upgrade from O2 UK, I get a country code error. when I try to modify the package using the XDA tools, I get wrong password for the ROM, extended ROM and Radio files.
Any one know the correct passwords yet, of have an upgrade to the XDA-upgrade tools?
:x
Thanks
