O2 Mini release uk

I have just got off the phone to O2 techie guys who have told me that O2 have no plans on releasing the mini here in the UK.
He had a list of new handsets and that was not on it....he even did a bit of research for me and phoned me back.

I know you can get it as jam, mda etc but I wanted an O2 branded phone with a new contract - I have my reasons.

Is there going to be a new one with wifi built in that they are waiting for?????

Anyone know any gossip - or can correct me on the release???

i emailed o2 uk and they told me that they couldnt tell me when or if it is going to be released. but did state to keep checking there website so it looks like it will be released but they are keeping quiet for some reason???

as far as i know. O2 are no longer going to release the device on O2 instead they will release the MDA IV (don't know the o2 name) in the summer apparently. this is from one of their employees in the croydon shop. he seemed knowledgable so i'm inclined to believe him, anyway, i got mine from T-mobile so it really doesnt matter to me....

buy it here in Indonesia, and get a contract there.. haha..
