Actually...
There MIGHT be a solution...
There is a jacket for the XDA, wich has a CF slot here (http://www.directmobileaccessories.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=930)
In the wonderful world of CF, there is a USB Host card here (http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/cfu1u.html)
With these two combined, you MIGHT get it to work..
The biggest problem would be the drivers, I think..
And the fact that you will end up with a HUGE device!
But it might be possible..

Does your Archos have a CF slot. If so, copy files onto CF and insert in xda backpack.
Oops. I've since found out that on some Archos devices (eg. AV400) you can't copy from the device back to a CF card.

There is a CF adaptor you can get for the Archos (original)
