I have tried two different XDA II units, two different Leadtek "My Traveler" units, six different software titles, and 9 com ports..
No combination gives me any signs of life..
So my first question is:
Is the LED on the Leadtek GPS Mouse supposed to blink or anything when not in use by software? Or does it light up as soon as you have power?
Is there a default com port for this?
I guess it's COM1, since the signal goes through the bottom connector..
Will the Leadtek GPS mouse give any data through the serial port if it can't find any satellites? (Most of the testing is indoors)
Does anyone know the pinout on Leadtek mouses with RJ11 connectors?
Just to add some extra confusion...
If I open Com1, the sound from the XDA II is transfered to the speaker..
If Com1 is closed, no sound is heard..

Can't anyone even give me an answer to the LED question?!
Isn't there anyone here with the "My Traveler" GPS mouse?
I thought this was a very common GPS reciever..

I have a Haicom 204S receiver, XDA 1 and a genuine car kit and I have exactly the same problem as you. I follwed the pinout wiring diagram available elsewhere and still nothing.
I'm beginning to wonder if the problem might be in the car kit.

Here's the web page (http://www.leadtek.com/gps.html) for Leadtek's GPS products; select the unit that matches what you have & grab the manual. It should tell you what you want to know.

Hmm...
There seems to be two versions of the XDA II car kit..
My version only have 4 connectors in the RJ45 female plug..
Thus, I can't use those schematics..
Darn it!

It's all in the manual...
9532manual_v10.6.zip from the Leadtek webpage.
Page 6/48..
It shows the pinout for the Leadtek 9532 aka Traveller..
As for the pinout for the car kit..
I still haven't found it..

Sorry, you are right, don't know how I missed it !
I've connected it all up to the car kit but there is power to the GPS at all times, even when ignition is off! does anyone know where the +vcc should be connected so it at least only has power when the ignition is on?
At present it's connected to the Brown wire on the (8 pin Molex?) connector.
