Hello,

After upgrading my ROM to windows mobile 2003 SE 2.06 I noticed that half of the programs that come with instalation (MMS composer, cammera software, etc..) were reported to be "incompatible" and were not installed. I couldn't have a phone like that so I figured I should downgrade back to windows mobile 2003 1.72

Because I saw some reports that it's not possible to downgrade, and tested myself.. I figured I would try experimenting.. I ran SE 2.06 ROM instalation again, waited for it to erase the ROM, then I took the phone from the cradle. I figured I would have no problems installing 1.72 after there was no ROM in the phone.. boy was I wrong..

The phone is dead now, won't even turn on.

Is there a way I could save it?

I found the solution and will post it here..

The phone has to be rebooted in Bootloader mode (hold down D pad in centre position, then power button and soft reset - all at the same time)

after that put it in the cradle and run the update of your choice..

this fixes the downgrading problem at the same time.
