Is virus protection REALLY neccasary on pda's? (Mine is an mda 2)

has anyone had a Virus in their pda?

also (probably an obvious question), does the battery run low more quickly if you have a lot of programmes installed, (even if you arn't actually running them.) ? My friend's xda 1 's battory is running out faster and faster. As the battery gets older- does it run out more quickly- ?

I don't think virus protection is necessary yet... but it's just a matter of time. :(

I don't think your battery life will be affected by having a lot of things stored on your PDA, but it will be affected if you have a lot of busy programs running or Today Screen items (weather panels, screensavers etc.).

Batteries don't last for ever and will gradually lose their capacity over many months. If your friend's battery is becoming unusable then make sure that he doesn't leave too many programs open when he's finished using them. I think battery life will also be better if he has good GSM signal when he's in one place for a long time (e.g. at night while he's asleep). He could also turn off the phone (go to flight mode) when he's asleep and doesn't need the phone.
