hi
i know its dangerous and i can kill my device but im willing to try if i get the right help
heres what ive done so far

1)downloaded the alpine rom from xda ftp
2) using the alpine upgrade utility tried flashing the rom but it gave me coutnry id error
3)tried fixing the country id error by the method described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16817&highlight=xdaiii+country+id

but that gave me a checksum error
4)i tried the upgrade using baupgrade utlity instead of alpine upgrade utility and it gave me a model id error

how can i overcome these small hurdles
thanks

Alpine and BA have different hardware. If you flash the rom, you'll get unbootable device.

yeah i know.. but that doesnt bother me.. ive flashed the xda II rom into it before ..got a unbootable device then i reflashed the pda2k rom back into it...ended up wasting 2 hrs but saved the device.. so thats no problem

no risks no glory!
