(switched off) but no harm done to the 6630...........

the use is..... here in my country (and many others) when you go to the mall or a coffe shop.... people with bluetooth keep scanning for other mobiles to bluejack or send you files and such... so when they try to scan whenever they get to your phone their phone will switch off......... so you can use it so no nokia phone can bluejack your phone!

Yeah - sorry - must be a newer 'i' variant or equivalent....6x10i?

The jist of my question was - does this only work on the pda like nokia phones or should it work on all nokia phones?

it works on nokia based on symbian OSs and you can put this code in any other phone with bluetooth support and it will switch off nokia phones....

so far i have tested on
nokia 6630 switched off
nokia 6600 switched off
nokia 7610 switched off
sonyericsson t68i sonyerricsson is not effected by the code

i believe it's a bug on nokia based on symbain OSs

Download the file.

Copy the file to your device.

Open with Word or Notepad or whatever.

Mark the string.

Copy.

Paste it into wherever it is supposed to go.

Papadocta,

I have bought some software that are registered in my name. If I change the "owner name" I believe they would be disabled. Has anyone tried with such softwares?

you can change the owner name when you want to do this trick and when you want to use the program change it back to your name! and btw what is the program you are talking about?

@cdx47,
yep it's a lot of fun here in the middle east.. people tries to send you files.. or get phone numbers...

there isn't a program that will do that.... BUT did ya try Mobiluck... this program is a bluejacking program.. it will alert you when a device in range.. you can use it to see people around ya... and see them disapear when they search you.. if they have nokia...

give it a shot it's a very cool program

What if you just leave the "Make this device discoverable to other devices" box empty? Would someone still be able to connect to the phone to look for phone numbers and stuff?

According to earlier posts it has to be "<tab>1<tab>", not "<space>1<space>".

Papadocta,
one of the applications is "bible with you" which gives you a pdb file specific to the owner name you provide at the time of purchase.

disables when a different owner name is detected. guess i will do the switch temporarlly when needed.
