your OPERATOR LOGO free on your MAGICIAN

Hi,

Many of us have a Magician or Blueangel or Himalaya devices branded for O2, or T-mobile........ but only few of us really have these carriers. I would like to build a database of logos, that you could simply copy to your /Windows directory, rename the file to carrierlogo.gif and when you press the Phone button, the logo of your operator appears on the display. (Make sure the file is read-only.)

I upload a few link below (for Belgium operator)

Images must be GIFs, 120x20 pixels.

It seems to work fine on my Jam. The only problem is that this logo covers up the true network display, so if you stay within your network all the time, or don't care what network you are on, then the logo is cute. If you travel to other countries and need to know what network you've been logged on to, it is not that great of an idea because the network display is covered by "carrierlogo.gif".

What bugs me is that it remains the same even if you roam onto another network.

funny, the trick doesn't seem to work on my magician even after a soft reset. am I missing something? Here's what I did:

1. copied the carrier logo to my device/windows while on sync
2. renamed it to carrierlogo.gif
3. pressed the phone button
4. proceeded to soft reset when it didn't work the first time

suggestions, anyone?

Try to delete the oringal carrierlogo.gif first on the phone and then rename the logo from your PC to carrierlogo.gif and then copy to device.

In Nokia, when you roam, the operator logo changes to the roamed Telco's name. In O2 Mini, it still remains withe same operator logo. Quite confusing to user.

Have you renamed the file to carrierlogo.gif?
Make sure you typed CARRIERLOGO, and not something else (ex. carierlogo)
Perform a soft reset after you've placed it in the Windows folder.

An Optus logo. On Wm5 (JAMin) it actually FULY replaces the text name of the carrier, which is even better.
