I need to have java virtual machine to view some real time traffic web pages. Unfortunately, WM2000SE nor PIE have jave built in. I tried to use "ewe" available here: http://www.ewesoft.com/ but the web page with PIE nor using the ewe html browser showed the page correctly. Some advice on java is here http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/computing/users/fittond/ppcjava.html but I still don't have that page loading properly. Just FYI the page is http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist12/D12_tmc/webmap/d12map.html#

what you ned is a JVM plug in for PIE. Not all the solutions listed on those links do that. I have only had ONE good experience with JVM+PIE and that was YEARS AGO with a iPAQ 3800 with the Jeode built in solution(just to give you an idea JUST how long this has been a standing issue with pocket pc's. It seems to be a microsoft issue, since they have also pulled Java from the windows XP OS not to long ago. Its a competitor to their .net platform so they are sqeezing it out where ever they can and have never had the intent to incluse it in pocket pcs). I worked with NSI in the early days before they had a real plug in implimentation and when they did it really didnt work at all. Things have hopefully changed since then, but for the most part I dont think a proper solution that works exists. If I was to suggest anything I would suggest Jeode (which when it worked back then it works like it does on the desktop pc IE, have no idea if it works now any longer as well. I some how remember getting a version of it trying it on my newer iPAQ at the time and suddenly having it not work with sites it once worked with. So who knows) or NSI (which seemed to be putting a lot of work into their version (if they finally came up with a real PIE plug in that worked, I know they put a lot of effort into their build way back then But PPC's and OS's have changed a lot over the last couple years so who knows now).

In short I gave up on trying to find something that worked because I was looking at spending a lot of money on software that MAY/MAY-NOT get it right. Just said @#$%! it! Not worth the headache or wasted trial and erro money. Sorry for the down news but save some time of your life that you might waste on this journey :x

Cheers.
