xda1 wont sycn sim card and the phone doesnt werkk help plea

i've O2 xda 1 .
with rom version 4.00.21 ENG
and radio version 4.21.00
protocol version 32554

the problem is my xda wont read my optus sim card ( am in australia )
and i cant use my xda as phone.
none of the phone options if functioning.

please help me to get this xda work as it sould be.
