What is new about it? It looks like a regular Jam with just some colouring on its plastic skin.

it looks a bit nicer i guess.......
just hope they fix the problems in the current jam ......
or maybe it's just the jam with a face left... cuz they don't have it in their site... they are only selling 3 products..

it's not really a new jam, just a different casing for it
such as:

Its not a JAM, its an Xda IIi with black casing. Just another duplicate of the HTC Alpine.

Looks like Krome are also the only other reseller that uses the T-Mobile style for the Himalaya. Also interesting: While ir T-Mobile doesnt sell Himalaya's anymore, Krome does sell their 'navigator f1'.
All in all its just a matter of casing / badging of the familiar HTC devices

Just to put a little confusion at rest -
In India, HTC devices are sold as i-Mate, O2 and the relatively unheard of Australian name, Krome. Actually Krome (a division of a company called E-Charge) are the only guys 'authorised' by HTC to re-sell HTC devices in India. I-Mate gets them through Dubai and O2 gets them through a company called Goldkist in Singapore.
The new Krome Spy (soon-to-be-launched-with-me-as-one-of-their-first-customers-for-the-spy) is actually the HTC Magician in a new, darker coloured casing.
The same design was introduced by Vodafone as the VPA Compact at the CeBIT 2005 (Hannover, Germany) last month.
And its also known as the Orange SPV M500, again just launched.
Although there are no changes to the hardware, cosmetic changes on the front panel include a more square-ish case, a horizontal slit (instead of vertical), a new D-pad and button design.
On the back, a large chrome ring now incorporates the mirror and the lens, the speakerphone slit next to the mirror has given way to a grill and most importantly, the ribbed sides are gone. In place is a rubber surround to provide grip. The camera, voice note and volume slider switches are much improved as well.
Lastly, the bottom with the USB connector and headphone jack is now covered.

In response to other posts, the Navigator/Pocket PC that krome is selling (at INR 31000 or US$690) is the PH10B with black accents, the same one that T-Mobile was selling as the MDA II. (The MDA IIi/XDA IIi/Qtek 2020i/HTC Alpine will look much the same.)
The Krome Spy will be priced at INR 32000 (US$ 710)

Matterhorn,
the new design of the Magician is exactly the same size as the older one.
ie at 108x58x18.1 mm
All the 'changes' are in fact improvements. for example, the battery cover now fits and merges much better, orifices where dust could enter like the Mini USB jack and headphone socket are now covered...

Vodafone has launched the new design as the VPA Compact, it was just announceed at CeBIT 2005 (Hannover, Germany)
Orange has also released the exact same design (available under contract in the UK) as the SPV M500.
All cases (silicon, leather and metal) will fit, but there is a slight problem. The front D-pad and keys are slightly different in shape, while at the back, the self-portrait mirror has been repositioned under the lens (Which is a problem with some cases which have cutouts for the mirror and lens)

I wonder if they upgraded the camera lens, that would be nice! I also wonder if the sound from the speaker will be louder or better. One thing that I'm not sure I like is that cover on the bottom for the USB port and headphones jack. Can that cover be lost, or does it dangle from a rubber attachment? In any case, it seems like that cover could get in the way. I use my wired headphones all the time :D

Get real. All of these issues were known from previous XDA's - and were not sorted out on JAM!

Why would someone spend ~700 US for an obsolete model?!
Win Mobile '05 is out and it has been made clear that the Magician will not get any upgrades from the ODM sellers.
So what's the use in making tweaks to an obsolete product... seems like too little too late.
Anyone have any real pics or info of the next Jam successor?
