if this is your today screen, it is amazing :) but strange i dont see many of the applications u mentioned in today screen! and strange after u insalled all this u still have 38 MB free! even when i dont have EXT. Rom installed i have 48 but after installing some applications it gets to be 35

tnx for the compliment :D I think you misunderstood my post a bit... as you can see I divided the apps/stuff to storage, sd card and main memory. the things you don't see (i.e. fast cleanup, maimach tel extender etc etc are on main memory not on the today screen).
My Today Screen has 4 items only (I'm a minimalist I guess)
#1 Date (in built)
#2 SBSH.net PocketBreeze 4.3 beta 5
#3 SBSH.net PocketWeather 1.00.15 beta (inside PocketBreeze as a tab)
#4 SPB PocketPlus 2.5
My Navigation Tray has
#1 Zendrui's PocketZenPhone
#2 Bluetooth (in built)
#3 Screen Rotation (in built)
With PocketBreeze you get 3 default tabs calendar, tasks, and special events. If you get ContactBreeze you get to see your contacts on your today screen as another tab and with v4.3 and up, you can add most today plugins (even from other companies) into PocketBreeze as an additional tab (so in total you can get 4 to 5 tabs it saves a lot of space... really great). www.sbsh.net
As for the Audio Tweak it enhances the speaker performance of the Magician (some devices have this set to a lesser priority and by using this you get better sound, if your device is already set to a high level you have no need for this)
As for my memory being 38MB I just soft reset my device before the screen shot so maybe that is why it is that high. Also my skins and themes (for today, pocketbreeze, and pocketweather are all in SD; the current ones are in main memory but my others are in SD), my tones are in storage. I guess it is a matter of file management. Some people even move their DLLs to Storage to free up even more memory.

Ya i know that but i meant items like: Handy Launcher and Pocket Weather (May be u used it in cutom tab of Pocket Breeze) :)
I have somehow the Same interface like yours, but without Pocket Plus ( cause it has conflick with Calligrapher) and With Extra Others like:
- EGRESS, as cutom Tab
- Ptravel Alarm
- Kbattery

Thanks for the info, i will check this one out.

i do the same already and have 48 MB of space, but after installing some apps i loose it :) although i install most of the pplaications, even the ones that use today screen, on Storage and not on Main memory.
Some people even move their DLLs to Storage to free up even more memory.
mmmm, I do that too :D

Ya i know that but i meant items like: Handy Launcher and Pocket Weather (May be u used it in cutom tab of Pocket Breeze) :) This is exactly what I did, PocketWeather is my 4th tab in PocketBreeze. I did not put the Handy Launcher Icon on the Navigation Tray Since I want a clean looking Today.
i do the same already and have 48 MB of space, but after installing some apps i loose it :) although i install most of the pplaications, even the ones that use today screen, on Storage and not on Main memory. Try to remove unwanted/unused help files. These can accumulate as well.

What does the Date/Time hack do exactly?
bnycastro
18th April 2005, 11:29 AM
The default for pocket pc is you have the time on the upper right hand side of the Start Menu Bar this hack adds a date to that. A few apps also do this (omegaone's batt pack pro and wisbar).

@J273: This is really easy to do. Anyway here goes. I am using Resco Explorer 2003. - with hide hidden files... and hide files in ROM setting checked.
Moved all help files to Storage Card (to save RAM) - goto \Windows then Sort by Type then scroll to files with *.htm as extension select them, cut and paste to desired location.
Moved Caller ID Pics (made my own gifs for groups) to Storage - in IA Caller ID Tools>Options>General>Storage Path for re-sized Photos: just choose \Storage
Moved Templates for the Camera and MMS Apps to Storage - Checking under \My Documents\Templates and \My Documents\UAContents\Templates\ you will see the templates for both Camera and MMS you can move these or delete these as well. I don't use MMS Templates and rarely use Picture Themes so I moved these as well.
Deleted/Moved all crap installed by IA Caller ID and MMS - Again after a hard reset (and installing stuff from ExtROM) you will notice alot of RAM is already in use. If you check the ff folders you will see alot of stuff that is pretty much useless. \My Documents\UAContents\Templates\ and \My Documents\My Pictures and even \My Documents (I think a wav file some 3gp and a midi file is installed by MMS) anyway you can go ahead and move these or delete these stuff as well.
Ah also remember to set your photos and videos storage to a Storage Card instead of Main Memory. (sometimes we forget this after a hard reset  )

How we can move DLL to storage/storage card.

There is a registry setting to specify to use other locations (eg /Storage) to store system DLL files. Or U can use Memmaid to do it for U.

I forgot one more Customization/Hack anyway here is the ActiveTimes Hack what it does is it sets the date and time of work days (as you know even if you change this in MS OUTLOOK the default is still 9 to 5 on the PPC) Well my schedule is not 9 to 5 (used to be 8:30am to 5:30pm Sun free, now it is 8:30am to 5:30am Sat/Sun free) so I applied this hack. :D
Using a Registry Editor goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Calendar\
Create new Key name it ActiveTimes
Create new DWORD (in ActiveTimes key) name it ActiveTimes
tap HEX input your calculations (mine is 2311003E = 8:30am to 5:30pm Sat/Sun free).
Soft Reset
The default is 2210003E = 9:00am - 5:00pm Sat/Sun free
You can read how to compute here:

Hi some questions to answer if you dont mind ;-)
Audio Tweak:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev\Priorit y256
from it's default 110 to 80
Does this make a big difference? Do I just change the Value Data from 110 to 80?
Date and Time Hack
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell add Binary TBOpt 13 00 00 00 (thanks bnycastro)
Could you describe the exact process for this please. I can add a new binary value in the shell folder bu t need to know what to put into value name and value data.
Ringtone Hack new location: Storage\Rings
Does this mean that the mp3 right click assign as ringtone patch no longer works? does it still copy it to windows ring or to the new location? Does this work for custom rings?
Sorry if these are n00b questions!

Scaled Speed Settings -
1- 260Mhz SI=204, 104/52/52
2- 312Mhz SI=219, 104/52/52
3- 364Mhz SI=234, 104/52/52
4- 416Mhz SI=247, 104/52/52
5- 468Mhz SI=279, 117/59/59
6- 520Mhz SI=310, 130/65/65
Scale down trigger - 20%
Scale up trigger - 45%
Scale max trigger - 95%
My O2 Mini can run at 520Mhz stable but I dont use the 520 settings because I need to save battery life; I only use speeds 1-5 above.

Use manual speed config, set 19:8:1, check Turbo, Half Turbo.
I found 494 is stable most of the time but it crash everytime when I try to uninstall Hot Button plus (not sure if it will happen if uninstall other software). So, I finally giving up using this software.

This setting indeed works. I get an SI of 298 with it. But it won't get higher when adjusting the second value (8) to a higher one, although CPU speed is displayed as 550, 624 or something like that.

nutdhanai, thanks for the setting values.
here's what i've been able to get working, at least on the higher end of the speed sprectrum:
520Mhz, SI=313 [130:65:65:T]
455Mhz, SI=298 [130:65:65:T]
494Mhz, SI=297 [124:62:62:T]
468Mhz, SI=283 [117:59:59:T]
390Mhz, SI=278 [130:65:65:T]
410Mhz, SI=266 [117:59:59:T]
416Mhz, SI=251 [104:52:52:T] *i think this is the native speed of the jam.
312Mhz, SI=223 [130:65:65:T]
i read somewhere (maybe here) that the 130 is the max bus speed for the jam.
to access all of these (and a lot more) speed values in phm, in the speed configuration screen, press and hold the screen and select "filter, generic, full or extended". if you select full, you will then see all of phm's speed settings. it is a long list and takes a while to come up.

I believe CE Cab manager is what you may use to create your own CAB package.
It is shareware and you can find it at http://www.ocpsoftware.com/
Some sample review can be found at http://www.be-central.be/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=40

Bnycastro, Kinglee is right. All U need is just WinCe Cab Manager.
Aitch, read message 3 of this thread and U will found what I did. And for Universal Remote U are using, have U test how far it can reach ? If workable, where you d/l it?
Thanks,

hello thanks for the app anyway was looking over your cab (to get the ClearType Tweaks) and noticed that in your cleartype hack you mispelled something. just thought you should know.
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings
OffOnRoataion should be OffOnRotation
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n\
Internet Setting should be Internet Settings

After installing a PocketMusic my PDA refuse to set Mp3 files as ringtone.
Investigations leads me to workaround. Next keys should be added to registry:

Without edit registry, you can set back mp3 as ringtone.
Just find in Pocket music player option ---> file types
unlight .mp3 [/b]

you're talking about reg hacks... well I've been stupid. I used RegKing on my Imate jam, trying to decrease the font size but instead it buggered the font up. Half the info is off the screen as the font is too big and is overflowing out of the screen area.
Undo doesn't seem to work and I dont want to mess too much with Regedit. Can someone post what the settings should be I guess there around HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\SYSFNT
and yes I know I should have backed up the registry but like I said I'm stupid and I know it now!!
Thanks

Worked a treat... In fact better than the original!! Some tinkering there??
I messed with the GWE folder settings too. Don't laugh! I must have reset this thing over 100 times and i've only had it 2 days! I know its a lot of screen shots but if you could I'd be grateful

As for cleartype that's set to 1 in the GDI/ClearTypeSettings/OffOnRotation part. Is this right??
bnycastro
23rd June 2005, 07:17 AM
I enabled it under Settings\System\Screen did a search and it's under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Shell\ also under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\GWE\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRota tion this one pertains to ClearType during Landscape mode.

Sorry I'm a new O2 users ....
Does "\storage card" and "\storage" means the same ? Does it refers to the same storage in the SD card ?.
Cause if the \storage refers to the main memory then it will be useless.
Thanks Castro
bnycastro
27th June 2005, 09:43 AM
These are two different locations. \Storage is the built-in file store memory it is around 7mb (part of the 64MB ROM). \Storage Card is your memory card that you have inserted to your device.
So you have RAM 64MB (around 57MB available to user aka Main Memory)
ROM 64MB (7MB available to user aka \Storage)
\Storage Card (depends on what card you use)

Well it will be useless than if i put the rings into \storage ?.
Is there any way, to put the rings into the "\storage card" and of course without having to change the rings manually .
As i mentioned above it will automatically change to "windows default".
How about yours castro ? did you put the rings in \storage card ? did you experience the same problems ?
Thanks
bnycastro
27th June 2005, 09:59 AM
Yes I did experience the same problems. That is why I moved my tones to storage. What I do is I cut up my tones and convert them to make them smaller. I use WMA for tones @48kbps 44100khz sampling rate. I get an average of 240kb per 30 second tone.

Mr Castro,
This is what i see in the Name _________ (blank) while the value is " 0000 . . .)
Then I filled the name as "TBOpt" and the value as "000 13 00 00 . . ."
Note that there is "000" before the "13 00 00" It is not "13 00 00 00" as you suggested. i can not delete the "000".
After reset, it is now "TBOpt = 13 00 00" It is not "TBOpt = 13 00 00 00"
nonetheless, the operation is succesfull. i have the date at the right-top portion.
Thanks man.

I noticed there is no AM or PM indicator. Is yours the same? Do you know if this can this be added by changing the binary value?
Answering my own question here. :) I searched Google and found the following:
Alternative method to show date & time on taskbar:
1) Open a registry editor
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
3) Create a DWord value named "TBOpt" and set its value to "3".
4) Soft-reset.
And here are some additional settings:
1) Remove date and time althogether = Change TBOpt value to "0".
2) Display only Time = Change TBOpt value to "1".
3) Display only Date = Change TBOpt value to "2".
4) Display both Time and Date = Change TBOpt value to "3".
There IS a way to force display of the AM/PM indicator, but it results in screwing up the AM/PM display in clock and alarm settings. :( More details here (http://www.ppcsg.com/mobile/index.php/t50233.html).
