CallerID Problem after upgrade to QTek 1.11

Hi, I've recently upgraded my T-mobile MDA Compact to the Qtek 1.11. Everything works great. Better that with 1.06, but there is one problem.

When i receive a phone call, it doesn't show the name of my contact. MS Voice Command says the name but only the number is displayed, I tried extracting the 1.11 rom but i can't get the .cab for the contacts to re-install it.

Anyone having the same problem and found a sollution or has the .cab from 1.11? I think it's probably photo contacts program that's not working properly

I think i solved it.
I got the "Caller_ID_Magician_Generic_WWE_RC13.CAB" form the latest QTek1.11 Rom. Copied it to my MDA
When you try to install it, you get an error about locked files.
Rename or Delete the following files.
/Windows/Startup/IA_CID_StartUp.Ink (do a reset)
/Windows/CallerID.dll
/Windows/ContactsSDK.dll
/Windows/DisplayCID.dll
/Windows/iacontacts.dll

Install "Caller_ID_Magician_Generic_WWE_RC13.CAB" again, Reset and voila.

I called my self from my home phone and it worked!

Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you too.

Got the exact same problem after upgrading my qtek s100 to version 1.11. Quite annoying - hopefully someone can help us! Pleeaaase...

I got the same problem also. No pictures come up after the upgrade. I did not really notice it until reading this post.

I'm not quite sure how to get the .cab-file. Please tell me and I will definitely give it a try.

It seems that some of us encounter problems with 1.06 Upgrade...

The Caller ID and MMS issue are only related to a file association problem.

Programs like Betaplayer or the like can manage audio and video file that are by default managed by windows media player.

The trick is to make Windows Media Player the default player for all media type especially the ones that are managed by the built in Applications like Caller ID, MMS, Album.

Unfortunately, once you have let a third party program to manage audio and video file managed by W M P there are no solution other than playing with the registry and unchecking any file association in third party programs (unless you want to do it again from the start) than soft reset to make the changes effective.

About the trick with Pocket Tweak, first verify that third party programs no longer associate with W M P files than do the trick you shoud read in Pocket tweak Control Panel "Extension mp3 File Type Windows Media File" exit then soft reset.

So my callerID still misbehaves :-(
