Help Me Upgrade ROM - Siemens SX-56

Please guide me to upgrade my Siemens SX-56 from Pocket PC 2002 Versions ROM Version 3.17.03

Is it ok to upgrade it to Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition ROM Version 3.04.00

I have downloaded Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition ROM Version 3.04.00 from the following site:

Its an EXE file. Do I copy it in my SD card and run it from there or Directly from Computer.
If Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition ROM Version 3.04.00 is not a good option please suggest which version will be the best.

I would suggest you use the 4.01.12 ROM since the WM2003 SE has some "little problems". I think this is the most functional (English) ROM for teh XDA.

Just download the exe file. connect your device to your PC via ActiveSync and run the exe file on your PC. Then just follow the instructions...

Well, i do suggest wm2003se...for me it is faster than wm2003, it has screen rotation, and it does not wipes out your SD-card.

I have upgraded my Rom to wm2003se (3.04.00_ENG) so far it seems to be working fine
and yes KTamas you are right it seems to be more faster than the previous version.

I have a quick question.
Am trying to load all my previous softwares but am getting the message that the software may not display properly. Do i need to download all the softwares again for WM2003.

Another Q i dont seem to find MMS Composer on this WM2003SE. Do I need to install that seperately?

You don't have to worry about this message. It says that the software MAYBE not works well in landscape mode.

Yes, you have to install it seperatelly.

After Update to WM2003SE the only problem I have is that Infra Transfer is not working.
Neither I can send or Receive any file via Infra Beam.
Tried once to Downgrade it to the orignaly installed version but still no use. it still dont work.
is there any driver or software which can resolve this issue.

please do note it does detect any phone i try to send file via infra beam. but it says FAILED.

Infrared worked for me fine. Tried it just in the moment between to XDA´s. Ohne have WM2003SE and the other one PPC2002.

Transfer worked in bothe directions without any problem....

Nomrally infrared has nothing to do with the bootlaoder, so i don't believe it. And you said, that the infrared is working and just the transfer failed....

But i've got no solution how to fix that problem... :cry:
