set mp3 ringtones in windows 2003se

can anybody help me about setting mp3 ringtones in XDA II with OS is windows 2003 se? :D

Put the files in \windows\rings and you can select them as you would any other ringtone.

Do you know what ROM you are using?

I have tried this on 2.06 and 2.20 and both allow me to do this.

Perhaps an older ROM will not allow it.

my pda is XDA II

AFAIK you can set mp3 for it. I convert them to mp4 extension and it works for me. Btw the MP4 is around 70% smaller then mp3 and really a good quality.

First you name the first song to 1 word:
Example: Anouk - Lost.mp3 -> anouklost.mp3
Then you put it in Windows/Rings.
You get your mp3 there.. I think of you have a hard/soft reset you won't need to change the name.. I can see all of my songs now in the settings of the phone.. Maybe it's luck only :wink:
