Apologies if anyone has posted about this already. My XDA IIi has developed an interesting characteristic; it skips a second every now and then, resulting in it gaining about 2 seconds every 10! Does anyone know what is causing this?? is it a virus or buggy software??

regards

Chris Norman

The only way to check that is to run the phone without any additional software, if it still displays these problems then its a hardware issue.

Hi Cruncheeee,

Did you fix this problem? I've just got exactly the same thing. Everything is fine apart from the clock gaining rapidly. As you say every few seconds it jumps 2 seconds.

Cheers,

Mark

I don't know how to fix the problem as such, but i noticed my XdaIIi slipped out of time every so often, so i got a free little program called SP TimeSync 2.2 that updates my time from one of the atomic clocks.

If your sat watching the clock, in the settings thing, sometimes the clock hangs, then skips to the time, making it appear that it has skipped time, where as it actually just stopped updating the screen for a second or two!

Hi, I never fixed it as such - just hard reset the device which stopped it. However, afterwards I wondered if it could have been caused by PocketZenPhone (I remembered I'd changed some PZP settings just prior to the problem). May be worth un-installing PZP (assuming you use it).
Cheers.

Update:

I tried the work arounds (SP TimeSync etc) and I got quite good at finding websites with the time on but eventually I gave up.

I never found out what was causing the error, but a new ROM release from O2 gave the push I needed to do a hard reset, load a new ROM and rebuld my XDA IIi

It was first major update and I haven't mastered all the things to backup, I kept my contacts and appointments OK through ActiveSync but lost almost everything else so I'm now adding back the apps I'd grown used to deleting the O2 junk they supply but.....

the clock is now telling the right time again!
