After I tried to downgrade my Qtec2020 from WM2005 tot WM2003SE the updated stoped in stage 1.
This is what I found in the RUULog.log file:
19:15:11 Connection with Serial
19:16:31 Begin stage 1
19:17:01 CE Erase retry 1
19:17:31 CE Erase retry 2
19:18:01 CE Erase retry 3
Now I am stucked in bootloader mode and tried softreset, hardreset, special WM2005 hardreset but nothing seems to work. I have only a grey screen with Serial v1.02 on it.
Is there anybody who could help me
:(

I've never performed any downgrades from WM5.0 but I have an idea that could work?
Install WM5.0 again, then perform a Hardreset but this time perform the Registry and Storage format (press power+record+camera+reset pin for about 5 seconds and you should see a menu on the screen, by using the record button to select an option and camera button to change to YES. It should be NO, YES, YES and press ACTION button to save changes). Then unhide the Extended ROM and erase anything in there.
Then perform the downgrade to WM2003SE.
I hope this works for you...

Thanks for the information but it's not the solution.
I tried to install WM5 again but I get an error 112 during the install.
The RUULog.log file:
20:42:03 Connection with Serial
20:43:26 Begin stage 1
20:43:56 CE Erase retry 1
20:44:26 CE Erase retry 2
20:44:56 CE Erase retry 3
The device is still stuck in bootloader mode. All the reset actions won't work (soft, hard, special)

Have you tried the upgrade/downgrade method using an SD card instead of the cradle/pc?

No I only tried it by USB/PC. I will search the forum for how to do this and give it a try. I will let you know later if this is the solution. Thanks for the information so far.

I experienced the same thing too.
Just detached battery from your device for about 10 minutes (I pressumed, may need more time)... then do the downgrade again.

in your PC task manager ''end process'' the ff:
''wcescomm.exe''
''WCESMgr.exe''
''rapimgr.exe''
now connect again the device and start the reflash...it works for me.
hope this wl help you...

No joy I'm afraid. How can I get it back in bootloader mode when I can't get past the O2 startup screen. Putting in an sd card Doesn't do anything either it is completely dead except for the annoiying but colorful O2 Logo.
Ok, it just turned itself off so I am after turning it back on andnow all I have is a white screen! What is going on? The laptop crashed when it was at 65% in the upgrade proces.
I'll give this taskmanager thing a go and get back to ya.
Thanks for all the help btw!

I have placed a ROM.nb1 on my SD card, but I get a eror with the XDA OS Image Tool. It looks that I can't find any way to get out of the bootloader mode whatever reset I tried. The battery was out for almost 12 hours but this also makes no difference. Is there a other way to flash by SD card or is there a way to reset/upgrade the bootloader mode. I think the bootloader mode hangs or is corrupt.

hey power kite! It seems we got similar problems but your a bit ahead in getting it fixed. Can you tell me where you got the Rom.nb1 file so I can give this XDA tool thing a go?
What kinda power kite you got BTW?

Great that it worked for you.
I did procedure 1, 2 and 3 but I'm still stuck in bootloader mode. Every upgrade WM2005, WM2003SE wich I have flashed before give me an error 112. I have flashed my SD card but I don't get any instructions on my screen.
Is it possible to install the bootloader again or upgrade it. I think my problem is the bootloader.

I finaly found a solution for my problem. All other workarrounds I tried before didn't worko for my problem. What have I done? I took a old clean laptop with Windows ME installed on it. No firewall or virusscanner where installed and I used a activesync version 3.7. I reversed back to the WM 2003SE version that worked before without any problem.
