XDA iis synch and charge cable - help needed

If it posibble to charge my XDA from USB?(with out DC adapter?)

from xdaII it have been automaticly supported
with xda1 you can read this

but not all computers support charging using usb when they are off
bet most laptops dont

also charging using usb takes much longer then using DC because usb is only 500mAmp
