Upgrading Xda IIs Purchased from Asia

I ahve a new Xda IIs from Singapore and I live in the USA. I am currently using it on the Cingular network

I have read wiki and tried to upgrade either the 1.40 rom or the radio alone and I am having problems.

Does anyone have any directions/suggestions as to what upgrades would work?

You can update with the new rom from O2 Asia. Look at this thread:
