Dear Wiki,
I downloaded the rom, and I extracted it. I following the instructions. I got the country ID error after run BaUpgradeUt.exe.
I tried to use xda3nbftool.exe to fix the rom, but still get the wrong password warning.
I tried to use xda3nbftool -t ms_.nbf > password.txt to get the password, but still get the same message, wrong password.
I am stopping now and searching the post. What can I do now ? Thanks a lot !

I'll check out the extended rom when it's done downloading.
Adendum
Damn this is one complicated rom. There is a TON of customization stuff, and TONS of registry entries.
There are only three things that have stood out.
1) Phone Band Selection: BandSel_BAWWE_140921.sa.CAB
- I've played with this a bit, their cab is actually fucked up, as they have tried to get 6 selections onto the page when only 5 are possible. Through the registry you can have any band configuration you want selectable. I personally LOVE this feature.
2) O2Asia_patch_140921.sa.CAB. This cab has TONS of stuff that i have no idea if they are improvements. AudioGW (seems to be the one from January 25 already floating around), GPRSAuthentication.exe, tiacxwln.dll, WModem.exe, XBackup.exe and some registry stuff, but I have NO idea if anything is an improvement.
3) Midi: MIDI_RTPI_BA26_RC21.CAB. Old one was labelled RC20, but the cab is very different than the RC20 one. The only significant file in the RC21 file seems to be the same as was in the RC20 cab, without some of the other RC20 files.
Other than that, I've noticed this extended rom seems to fuck up WMP10's default button config to something stupid (and intended according to the registry keys), but you can set those back no problem.
I still have a TON more investigation to do.

if what it states is true then o2 XDA IIs is gonna be the best blue angel or rather the best PDA phone ever!

i have just loaded the new ROM!
what i found in a short span:
-a bit more responsive XDA IIs
-there is a new tab in phone settings to select the band!
-o2 plus is much better and stops that crappy probs it used to give!
-o2 connect now allows you to download SPB GPRS monitor for free!
-my GPRS connection probs were solved.
-i had updated my XDA IIs 1.31 rom to Imate 1.40 rom and in it the GPRS wouldnt disconnect on its own...it does disconnect after a while of non use in this!
- I AM NOT FACING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BLUETOOTH OR THE OTHER PARTY NOT HEARING MY VOICE...
-still trying it out... hoping for the best!

though not appearing in the Philippine XDA IIs support window, the new rom update supports GPRS setting for the following telecom: Globe, Smart and Sun Cellular in the Philippines. Good thing that Globe issued XDAs are unlocked.

If needed that is as well as check your links.
BTW I moved MIDI_RTPI_BA26_RC20.CAB to leftovers.

Thanks again, I know how much work it is.
TheLastOne

MDAIIIUser,
MIDI_RTPI_BA26_RC21.CAB is a strange file. It seems to be the same as RC20, but without some of the other files that RC20 contains.
I would leave the RC20 patch as it was, as the RC21 doesn't seem to be a proper REPLACEMENT.
I will update those pages ASAP.
Addendum: The RC21 that is included in the Asian rom is a farce. It contains the same dll as in the I-Mate rom but not the other 2 files accompanied. Put the RC20 cab back, as it is still the newest version.

well, i nvr til date had any problem with sound on my XDA IIs and even with this rom the same is true....
as far as gprs is concerned, 1.31 rom used to give me some problems - it would connect off and on, even though the corect settiings were fed! like GPRS connectivity was moody!
but it was solved with i-mate 1.40 rom but the GPRS wont disconnect on its own!
in this GPRS connects well, disconnect after few mins. of inactivity, etc... so no probs now!
and anyways i'd like to persist with my this 1.40 rom untill the XDA IIs is in warranty period as O2 have strictly started disclaiming their waranty if the ROM is fiddled with something else than their own!
so all take care!

After upgrading my XDA IIs (originally shipped from HK) with this new ROM, I find the constant reconnection to GPRS a real hassle. Wi-fi and GPRS were not working well; certain apps were hanging and I looked into the extended ROM.
After disabling most of the O2 Asia customized CABs, it is now very stable. GPRS does not disconnect and works much better than before (except the bug with camera brightness not reverting to previous setting and WMP 10 losing sound if quit when playing).

Hmmm interesting.. Where can I find this file, and how can I use it with my O2XDA2s? I have allready done the upgrade
You need to unlock and unhide your extended ROM (check Wiki).
After two days, I'm still not happy with the new ROM (and this config.txt) because there are still problems connecting and reconnecting. Bluetooth is also not behaving well, don't know if any of my installed apps are conflicting...

guys why am I still having error when upgrading? it's always stop when the bar reaches 51%. And only for the nk.nbf. But the radio was sucessfully upgraded. This is my friend's BA. He tried to upgrade it with XDA2 1.72 rom. Wow it's so messy now. It's stuk in the bootloader. I cannot use the GetDeviceId. But this XDA2s is already resgistered in www.seeo2.com. Could someone help me. I never upgrade XDA2s. Only XDA2.

I upgraded last week. I don't know about GPRS functionallity but it takes just under a minute to connect to ActiveSync via wifi. With older shipped roms, pre 1.40, it only tooks 3 seconds to connect to activesync, If I can find a trusted radio rom, this current radio rom is vacating.
ps. Over all stability is quite well. No crashes thus far and all apps have no problem. including the shipped ones from ext. rom. excluding the camera backlinght problem of course.

Ok Guys,
I need your help...I have completly f*&%ked my XDA IIs.
It all started yesterday when I tried to update the Asian 1.4 ROM update from the see02 website last night with bluetooth connection.... DON"T do it!! How dumb am I , about half way through it clicked.....ummm how exactly is it going to finish the install if it resets and the connection drops out.
So I was faced with a black screen that says v2.07 which I know know to be the bootloader screen. Why don't they mention this in the install so idiots like me don't do this. Many topics on the matter suggest just plugging it in to the cradle and start again.
So after getting my cradle from work I have set out tonight to do just that. However.... My bootloader screen has disappeared ?? It used to say USB 2.07 like I mentioed b4, but now it is just blank. I have tried soft reset and hard resets all day with no love.
This presents a different problem, as now I put it in the cradle (power light comes on) however when I run the ROM installer it says it can't detect my XDA.
After hours of hard resets, bootloader resets, active sync attempts I finally got the install to start again.
It is really wierd actually, at one point I had given up and then about 20min later the pc recognised the device in USB and the XDA screen came back saying USB 2.07.
So I got to stage 3 on the install and received an error message 112: CE Rom Updater saying that there has been a 'problem' and I need to do a soft reset.
Derrrr....of course there is a problem.
You can imagine a soft reset does f all and I am back to square 1, full blank screen. No response after hard reset, bootloader reset.
This is my second attempt/time on the merrygoround.
So yes I will keep trying and look all over the web for a way to fix error 112.....goddamn 112.
But if anyone has any advice, that would be good too.
Anyone who is still reading I really appreciate your dedication to helping other people, thankyou!

to bring ur screen back to 2.07 mode try putting the device into boot loader mode:
Boot Loader Mode
You can enter or exit bootloader mode by pressing the camera button, power button and then the reset button and hold for a few seconds.
now place it in the cradle and run the update again... i think u should suceed... else take the device to the service center...it should still be in warranty and any errors during a genuine update are covered under warranty...

Thanks but I have tried Power+Record+Soft Reset many times with no response.
It looks like I might have to send it back, surely there is a fix out there for a dead XDA IIs.
Anyone ??
Thanks

Well after 3 days and 3 nights of working on this little baby I got it working.
Just incase anyone else has this problem got to - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.40.00_Upgrade
and follow the second version (slowest and hardest install)
Second Method (Slower/Harder)
Download the Type I 1.40.00 CE Rom (from the Qtek update)
Download the Type I Upgrade Utilities
Download the Type I 1.12.00 Radio Rom
Extract the three files to a common directory
Follow the instructions here to use xda3nbftool.exe to modify the roms for your device information gathered by GetDeviceData.exe
After you have modified the Radio and CE Roms for your device, run the BaUpgradeUt.exe to upgrade.
Since you have only upgraded your CE and Radio Roms, you will now have to visit the Kitchen to bring your Extended Rom up to 1.40.xxx
Anyway be patient, it seems it doesn't work and then about 20min the screen just comes on.
Good luck and remember kiddies, don't upgrade the rom using bluetooth active sync, always use the cable....and don't run with scissors.
Heath

After upgrading my XDA IIs (originally shipped from HK) with this new ROM, I find the constant reconnection to GPRS a real hassle. Wi-fi and GPRS were not working well; certain apps were hanging and I looked into the extended ROM.
After disabling most of the O2 Asia customized CABs, it is now very stable. GPRS does not disconnect and works much better than before (except the bug with camera brightness not reverting to previous setting and WMP 10 losing sound if quit when playing).
Here's my customized config.txt (inside the extended ROM, unlocked and unhidden):

Does anyone know if this new O2 Asia ROM disables GSM 1900?
The reason I ask is there is no such option under the Phone | Band settings. It only has:
Automatic
GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 900/1800
Also, I can't connect to my regular carrier (Fido) who uses 1900, but it now uses Rogers (850 & 1900)... Any idea?

Hi Guys...
Looks like problems with O2 asia ROM!!!!!
I hv put it on my PDA 2k and I am finding it best of all the ROMs.What I did differrent is I did not install the Extended ROM and the Radio is 1.13.
After the Upgrade, I unlocked the Ext ROM, then installed only those CABs which are necessary such as MMS...CallerID etc. Also installed Band Choose CAB.
My experience is that, one should choose the Band of the service provider and not the option "Automatic"...For Ex, herein India I am with Airtel which operates on 1800 Mhz and I hv selected that option in that.
I am finding Radio very very clear, the BT also doesn't go into sleeep mode...no call drops...Good instant GPRS connection....Above all very good voice clarity..
I hope, this helps u guys...

oreokat,
The O2 Asia ROM does not disable GSM 1900 because that is what I use in the US under Tmobile. My XDA IIs just reverts to Automatic and everything runs fine. Is the SIM card sitting in the phone properly?

Yes it should be sitting properly, it is getting the other carrier (Rogers), which is also integrating with Fido. Perhaps that's why... Thanks.

GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 900/1800
So I have mine set to Automatic in order for it to work... but seem ti be having problems with the device 'waking itself up' to try and connect or sync (maybe with the network???) Is there any Radio stack that has the Rogers (850 & 1900) Band Settings? Any idea?

Hi, the problem you are all describing has nothing to do with the Radio Stack. There is a flaw in the CAB file that enables the Band Settings tab. The band setting tab can display 5 entries, the CAB tries to display 6 entries. As a result, the 6th entry, GSM 1900 is not displayed. This flaw was not caught until after the CAB file was released. There is a thread on this site which outlines the different choices, and their associated values.

I had no gprs connection problem long time ago since I upgraded to this rom.
Unfortunately, nearly everytime after using for a while on gprs connection, when I want to switch to wifi by wireless manager, I can't get connection!!!
I must do a softreset which is even worse than the gprs problem since I can turn on and off flight mode to solve this.
Anybody has the same problem. In addition, the BT memory problem is definitely bothering me nearly everyday and only a softreset can help this again.
Cheers,

I have a problem, my XDA always do hard reset when I change my sim card. So I decide to upgrade my software with this asia rom.
My device data is PH20B 0 B WWE E O2___001 1.31.00 0 0 1.31.139 1.06.00 06.00
But when I try to upgrade it says Error 120: Country ID Error: 22-22-25-25-25.
My questions is
1. If I upgrade to this rom, do you think it will resolve the hard reset problem?
2. Why get country error even my device data says I'm use WWE.
Thanks for any help

Use the attached EXE to upgrade. At first time, you may still get the ID Error, don't worry, keep the BA stay in cradle, run the EXE again, you will make it.
