Has anyone else noticed this:-
I happened to enter a simple 4 digit password into my XDAIIi that began with 08.
When subsequently asked to enter the password, after entering the 0 then the 8, the 08 appears in clear text on the screen!
They go back to the * display when entering the 3rd & 4th digit but it seems weird why this combination goes into plaint text - I've tried other password codes but haven't found any others that exhibit this 'characteristic'.
This also happens if you have a SIM password which starts with 08.
Furthermore if you do a soft reset, and you enter your password before the lengthy boot up process continues, not only does the 08 get displayed during entry, the fourth digit is left highlighted on the keypad - thus some sharp eyed thief, eavesdropping on your password entry would only have to work through 10 combinations to get access to your XDA.
So a word of advice - avoid 08xx password codes on your XDA if you're at all concerned about the security of your XDA (then again if you are that concerned, you probably will be using a strong alphanumeric password).
Please let me know whether its just my XDA thats doing this or is it a design feature and if so, any ideas why?
