O2 XDAIII German to English

Guys I am having a nightmare!! I have an unlocked XDAIII bought from O2 in Germany and I would like to change it to English. It has no camera and I have tried various ROM upgrades with no success. I do have a limited knowledge of computers so I am not totally blind but this thing has got me beat.

I have read the remaining guides. The country ID problem I have overcome - thanks to them but I still can not upgrade.

My data is:

• Model No: PH20B1
• Minor version Model No: B 1
• Language Code: GER (German) This is the also MY shipped Language Code)
• Minor: R
• Operator code: O2___102
• This is the code of how your device was sold as, not what SIM you are using.
• ROM Version: 1.31.01
• Minor: 0 1
• Extended ROM version: 1.31.137
• Radio Version 1.10.00
• Minor: 10.00

OK thanks for your help sussed now.

What I did was download the O2 Asia update and extracted it.
Inserted [CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1 into the RUU.conf file
Downloaded MaUpgradeUT and extracted that
Ran the MaUpgrade file instead of the BaUpgradeUt

and BINGO English XDA - fantastic

I got the same problem.... but the upgrade is not possible because of "wrong country code".

How is it possible to erase to change that?

Open up the RUU.conf file with notepad and insert

[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1

Then save the file

Run the MaUpgrade again and it should be OK
