As I hope is still visible in my signature, I was running the Beta 2 version of SX66 1.40.122 standardized EXT ROM Chris Daly put together (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Wiki_Dev_Test5) . All was fine. Until now.
I decided to upgrade the Radio to 1.13.00. I think I did it right (reading the wiki: using the directory Chris' Roms were in, I replaced the Radio Rom from Chris with 1.13.00, then edited the fix.bat file with the device id, wwe info and provider. Then I ran the batch file, and used the upgrade utility) All was fine.
I used Xbackup to restore my contacts and appointments from SD Card
For some reason, with Radio 1.13.00, my default ringtone will ring only when someone not in my contacts calls. When someone in my contacts calls, it plays another ringtone. When I look in photocontacts, there is nothing other than the default ringtone selected for all users in the list.
I should mention the Caller ID Version is 1.20 (Build 19167)
Questions/Observations:
(1) is there a method to delete the callerID database and not lose the contacts? I thought a backup of contacts only backs up the contacts, but for some reason, it seems a ringtone database of some sort is corrupt.
(2) is my best bet to do a hard reset, go back and use a tool like STGViewer to extract my contacts, and then see what happens?
(3) What do you think caused the problem? If I got back to 1.12.00 Radio, I think my problem will still exist, unless it is the radio rom causing the database to get corrupt.
(4) I found that if I assign a ringtone to a user, then exit the photocontacts, sometimes when I go back in, the ringtone is assigned to multiple users, but even so, another (neither the phone default, nor the assigned ) ringtone plays ...
(5) Again, if someone not in my contacts calls, the default ringtone rings
Please share your comments / experiences/ suggestions
This is very strange indeed.
