I am sorry but I must be really stupid, even though i pretend to know this JAM pretty good.
But if you do that , you can only choose between a JPEG, BMP or GIF File an not a pit file. As well as if you change that , the only thing that happens is that it changes the internal view of the PIT an not the PIT.
Anyone else has an idea ?
Sorry for bothering.

Dont worry, had the same problem myself.
The trick is - you have to assign a photo first, then the rest of the options come up including the template which you can change to lourd. The same applies to the default pictures, choose any jpeg, and all the options will come up. Really badly designed app is Phot Contacts.

you can set pit theme for 3 type of caller:
-unknown photo
-not found photo
-default photo
for this settings you need:
open photo contacts
tap tools and select "set default photo"
here you can set photo and pit theme

hey lourd thanks for the upload. i enjoyed using it.
here's my first pit file i created with photoshop and ur tool. since friendster's a bit famous.. here's a friendster inspired pit.
for a more friendster theme
use the nophoto.jpeg for the unknown or no photo callers and 16 Tahoma font black with orange numbers.

You need to set that part of the GIF to be transparant before you import it into PITtool.

Is it possible to have the PIT files and Caller ID Photos folder (where it saves assigned photos) on an SD card? It didn't work for me putting them in the /Templates/ folder on the SD card as explained in the PDF manual. Ta.

Here's my PIT theme. Quite large for a PIT file but seems to work ok (42K). The caller's photo goes in the screen in the picture.
