I haven't tried this yet, but it appears to offer increased web surfing speeds of up to 5 times, by compresssing data and accesseing it through their servers. I know other companies offer similar products, but onspeed offer the services for dial-up from PC MAC and PPC all for only £1.99/month.

What's more all the reviews say that it actually works and gives you a massive speed boost. Whilst a speed boost is great, what interest me more is the ability to use GPRS and because the data is so well compressed, you should be able to enjoy a massive saving on GPRS charges - now that really is appealing.

Has anybody here actually tried this service on PC, MAC or more importantly in my case on PPC?

I've been using it on a laptop in various places around the World for the last 18 months and it works well (generally) - especially if your using a copper wire connection. Sometimes a problem when it has to go through screening (like Saudi), but normaly very good.
I've been waiting for the ppc version for a while- very much for the reasons you listed and installed it last week - Seemed very quick over Orange GPRS, didn't notice any big savings, though admittedly I haven't downloaded too many pages yet. :)

Thanks for that. I spoke to someone else yesterday who has been using it on dial-up and says it does actually work.
